The Shoppers Drug Mart (SDM) E-Commerce team’s mission is to be the best in convenience, making it easier to feel, look, and live better.
From beauty products, including virtual try-ons, to personal care, health, baby, and electronics we offer our customers the same convenience that they are used to in-store, digitally.
Since the launch of SDM eCommerce in 2015, we have since expanded to over 35,000 skus, receive millions of monthly visits across our web / app experiences, and plan on continuously driving a better experience for our customers.
Reporting to the Director, Strategy and Planning Shoppers Drug Mart E-Commerce, you will be a key member of the team responsible for growing the SDM eCommerce business through sales planning, promotional planning, conducting various analyses, and leading a variety of growth initiatives.
While growing the top line of the business, you will also be focused on improving product margins and optimizing promotional spend to drive profitable growth.
You will also be involved in helping shape the long-term strategy of the SDM.ca business, to help drive digitally influenced sales across our omni-channels and marketplaces.
You will be a key partner to multiple teams and be responsible for mentoring and developing a team of two Senior Analysts to achieve your goals.
What you'll do
- Grow the SDM eCommerce business through various levers in order to achieve annual sales and margin targets; build plans and forecasts to achieve these targets (annual, monthly, daily).
- Own eCommerce promotional plan (via PC Optimum) and use promotions to drive sales while optimizing for return on promotional investment.
- Lead various growth / strategic initiatives in close collaboration with teams such as Digital Merchandising, Marketing, Finance, Product, UX, and Technology to improve process efficiencies, drive incremental margin, improve the customer experience, and drive overall digitally influenced sales.
- Develop a deep understanding of our on-site and in-app experience through site / web analytics and identify opportunities to improve customer journeys, conversion rates, and build A / B testing plans to validate these hypotheses.
- Leverage data and analytics to drive customer, merchandising insights to support strategic and tactical decisions.
- Manage two Senior Analysts and leverage data to be an Analytics & Insights centre of excellence for the SDM eCommerce business.
- Lead our 3rd party marketplace strategy, planning, execution, and work with our external partners to help grow our marketplace business.
- Present insights, build relationships, and partner with numerous teams across Loblaw Digital and Shoppers Drug Mart to continuously improve the SDM eCommerce business.
Does this sound like you?
- 5+ years in management consulting, analytics, eCommerce, or a high growth technology company with strong business acumen.
- 2+ years of experience managing and developing direct reports.
- Critical Thinking Skills Able to structure ambiguous problems, form hypotheses, build plans to solve problems, and have a POV on the So What?
of the questions we’re trying to answer.
Analytical Skills Ability to build SQL queries to pull and analyze data; Experience with data visualization tools (e.g.
Looker) and programming languages such as Python is a plus; Experience with web analytics is also a plus.
- Communication Skills able to simplify complex ideas into simple messages through slides or orally in front of senior audiences.
- Project Management Skills able to spearhead initiatives across large cross functional teams through relationship building, collaboration, prioritization, and staying organized.
- Acts like an Owner Takes accountability, self-prioritizes to maximize impact, and able to make decisions / trade-offs that will improve the business.
- You can easily build relationships and are comfortable working in a matrixed organizational structure and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
