We are seeking a results-oriented, forward-thinking Human Resources Business Partner to join our professional team to support the Western Region of the organization (Alberta and British Columbia).

What You’ll Be Doing
Duties and Responsibilities :
- Collaborate with Regional Managers to understand business objectives and align HR strategies accordingly.
- Act as the primary point of contact for HR matters within the designated region.
- Approximately 60 - 70% of your time will be spent travelling between the branches to build relationships with managers and employees.
You will be expected to spend 3 to 4 days per week at the branches / on the road for the first 3 to 6 months, and 2 to 3 days per week on an ongoing basis after this adaptation period has passed.
- Handle employee relations, including conflict resolution and mediation, fostering a positive work environment.
- Lead workplace investigations into complaints related to harassment, discrimination, or other workplace issues.
- Oversee disciplinary actions and terminations in compliance with company policies and legal requirements, including the development and execution of Performance Improvement Plans (PIPs) when necessary.
- Coordinate employee performance and appraisal programs; support the effective management of employee relations issues and provide coaching and mentoring to members of the management team and other key talent when needed.
- Analyze HR data and metrics, and provide insights to identify trends and make recommendations for improvements.
- Identify high-potential employees and work with Regional Managers to create mentorship plans and succession plans for key roles.
Guide managers with career conversations, Development Plans / Career Growth Plans and other development initiatives.
- Collaborate with corporate HR on compensation and benefits strategies, ensuring competitive and equitable practices within the region.
- Partner with corporate HR to research, communicate and implement company-wide HR initiatives within the region.
- Assist with the development of new HR policies, procedures and communications.
What You’ll Bring to the Team
Qualifications and Requirements :
- Post-secondary diploma or degree, preferably in Human Resources, Business, or similar. HR designation preferred.
- Preferably at least 5 years of progressive experience in a generalist, HRBP, or closely related position.
- In-depth knowledge of all relevant employment, human rights and safety legislation.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills (verbal, written and presentation) and ability to influence and engage cross-functional teams.
- Ability to mediate and resolve conflicts effectively. Proven experience in handling employee relations issues, including conflict resolution.
- Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to prioritize, balance conflicting tasks and manage internal and external stakeholders.
- Good analytical skills along with experience with metrics.
