Overhead Crane Operator

We are seeking a motivated individual looking for work as a crane operator, for our client, a leader in fabrication and distribution of concrete reinforcing steel and related products.

SHIFT SCHEDULE : Day Shift, Monday to Friday, 5 : 00 am to 1 : 30 pm and Afternoon shift available with extra $2 an hour premium.

WAGE : starting at $24-27 / hr. Pay is based on experience with an opportunity to review following a successful 3 month probation.

JOB LOCATION : Rocky View County No.44, Alberta, must have your own transportation, as public transport is not available

Responsibilities

What will your daily responsibilities look like?

• responsible for the safe and efficient operation of overhead crane
• unload rebar using the overhead crane and navigate it to the proper area
• load cut and shaped rebar onto the trailers for distribution
• communicate with fellow teammates to ensure a collaborative and safe environment
• you may be required to lift and move the rebar by hand when required and provide additional support to production employees

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess

previous experience in rigging and operating an overhead crane in a a rebar environment or recent experience operating the overhead crane an industrial

facility

• previous experience in welding, rigging, construction
• can speak the dialogue - know your lift points and how to form a stable load
• comfortable loading and unloading trucks in a bay area
• the ability to lift 50lbs unassisted
• strong communication skills + a collaborative mindset
• safety conscious mindset and commitment to safety
• must have your own transportation, as public transport is not available
• must have legal authorization to work in Canada by way of Canadian Citizenship, Permanent Residency, or valid Canadian work permit.
