About This Opportunity
The Halifax Primary Care Clinic will provide physicians the opportunity to work within a Nova Scotia Health managed, turn-key practice with a team of healthcare professionals such as Nurse Practitioners and Family Practice nurses to support patient care.
With a supportive administrative team that includes three booking clerks and a Health Service Manager to support operational, scheduling and billing needs, you can focus on what's important : providing patient care.
This clinic supports patient care to both attached and unattached patients connected to Virtual Care Nova Scotia and Maple platforms.
This clinic will function in a partnership model with the Bayers Lake Primary Care Clinic and will see a sharing of existing resources.
The clinic is open Monday to Friday excluding all holiday evenings and weekends. Hours of work are 37.5 per week, although discussions about part-time work are an option.
Payment for this opportunity is 50% LFM (for attached patients) and 50% sessional hourly (for unattached patients). Overhead at this clinic is $ per month.
The EMR used by the clinic is Med Access.
This clinic is located in the Halifax Shopping Centre and is a brand new build, with large windows and new equipment.
The position repots to the Head, Department of Family Practice, Central Zone for their professional and clinical activities, and to the Director, Primary Health Care and Chronic Disease Management, Central Zone and the Manager, Halifax Start Up Clinic for administrative activities delivered for the Program.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities include but are not limited to :
- Examine patients and take their histories, order diagnostic test and laboratory procedures; advise patients on health care, health promotion, and disease prevention.
- Consultation and referral to other medical practitioners'
- Act as a patient advocate
- Prescribe and administer medications and treatments, inoculations and vaccinations
- Report births, deaths, contagious and other diseases as per Nova Scotia Public Health requirements
