Founded in 1978 and headquartered in Edmonton, Alberta, All Weather Windows Ltd. (AWW) is a dynamic leader in the window and door industry in Canada.

Operations include two manufacturing plants located in Edmonton and Customer Solution Centres located in Langley, Edmonton, Calgary, Lethbridge, Red Deer, Saskatoon, Regina, and Winnipeg.

We are currently recruiting for a Corporate Chaplain to join the Edmonton team. This individual is responsible for providing confidential, short-term support and counseling to employees or members of employee’s families when requested by managers, supervisors or by the employee themselves.

The Corporate Chaplain will also provide crisis intervention in critical incidents and during emergent issues where intervention is required, requested, or recommended.

The Chaplain will be knowledgeable and current on various referral and resource agencies in the community. This position is part time working 8 hours per week.

This individual will A Shift.

In this position, you will be responsible for :

Serves as the Chaplain, counselor, and Care Giver for all employees and immediate family members of the employee. Immediate family members include the employee’s spouse and dependent children.

Exceptions may be made to this specific circle of care under certain circumstances.

  • Provide 24 hour, 365 day-a-year availability for crisis intervention.
  • Work closely with management on any emergency situation. The Chaplain may be called upon to assist or advise in areas requiring spiritual, emotional, or social expertise.
  • Develop relationships and maintain contact with employees through proactive visits to various worksites, Customer Solution Centers, or plants.
  • Provide informal and formal care for employee issues.
  • Wherever possible and feasible, visits may be made to hospitals, correctional facilities or to the home of the employee and / or family members who request the presence of a chaplain.
  • Writing letters of concern, congratulations, appreciation, or support for employees on behalf of the management of All Weather Windows.
  • Provide referrals and resource information to employees and / or family members with severe or long-term needs to specialized assistance providers.
  • Act as a member of the support team for anyone killed in a job-related incident or who died of natural causes while on the job.
  • Serve as an advisor to the management group on matters of diversity, inclusion, belonging, religion, ethics, and morale as they impact individuals and teams in the workforce.
  • Speaking at in-house events at the request of management or speaking at community events where AWW is represented.
  • Provide seminars and / or workshops as requested by management.
  • Offer spiritual enrichment activities as requested
  • You will provide support, guidance, and practical help to people both with and without faith, often during times of crisis or personal difficultly, and when necessary, refer these employees for further additional supports such as EFAP or other specific support groups, in areas such as :
  • anxiety, depression and other mental health conditions
  • bereavement
  • emotional issues
  • illness
  • relationship problems.
  • undertake administrative tasks, collect and analyze data, and provide information to VP, HR as requested to look at trends and areas of concern
  • contribute to the development of your organization’s policies, practices and procedures in terms of religious, spiritual and pastoral care in order to improve the service

Primary Qualifications Required :

  • Counselling or Religious studies completed to the Undergraduate Level. Equivalent training and experience will be considered.
  • The Corporate Chaplain will be a seasoned counselor that can identify and understand the widest variety of people issues that can arise in the workplace.

Preference is given to those with previous workplace or equivalent Chaplaincy experience. Previous corporate or business experience is a must, and the right candidate will have a substantial understanding of organizational behaviour.

  • The Corporate Chaplain must have strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work well with all ethnic, social, and economic groups.
  • Excellent listening, communication and interpersonal skills in order to build and develop relationships with the people you are helping
  • An understanding and willingness to engage with people of all cultures, faith groups and none
  • The ability to assess and respond to people's spiritual, religious and support needs, which may be complex, contentious or sensitive
  • The ability to empathize and treat individual concerns with respect, tact and sensitivity
  • The ability to act with calmness and integrity in times of stress
  • If from a particular religious background, the Chaplain must also have a non-denominational approach to counseling across faith groups and to those not affiliated with a faith group.
  • The Chaplain must exercise an extreme level of confidentiality in all areas of their work including but not limited to any information they receive from or about individuals or families.
  • It is helpful but not mandatory for the Chaplain to be familiar with federal and provincial privacy protection laws and legislation.
