Job Description

Partner Staffing is currently working with our client seeking a skilled Highway and Roadway Project Manager to join the team in Edmonton, Alberta.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of highway and roadway projects, from planning and design through construction and completion.

They will lead project teams, coordinate with clients and stakeholders, and ensure successful project delivery while adhering to safety, quality, and regulatory standards.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities :

Lead and manage highway and roadway projects from initiation to closeout, ensuring adherence to project specifications, schedules, and budgets.

Coordinate with clients, stakeholders, regulatory agencies, and subcontractors to define project requirements, scope, and objectives.

Develop project plans, schedules, and budgets, and monitor progress to ensure timely and cost-effective project execution.

Prepare and review engineering designs, specifications, and drawings for highway and roadway projects, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.

Manage project resources, including personnel, equipment, and materials, to optimize productivity and efficiency.

Conduct regular site visits and inspections to monitor construction progress, quality, and safety compliance.

Identify and mitigate project risks and issues, and implement effective solutions to ensure project success.

Prepare and present project status reports, progress updates, and budget analyses to clients, stakeholders, and management.

Foster a culture of safety, quality, and excellence within the project team, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.

Qualifications :

Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering CET or P.Eng

Minimum of 7 years of experience in civil engineering, with a focus on highway and roadway projects.

Proven track record of successfully managing highway and roadway projects from inception to completion.

Strong technical knowledge of highway and roadway design standards, specifications, and regulations.

Excellent project management skills, including the ability to develop project plans, schedules, and budgets, and manage project resources effectively.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively liaise with clients, stakeholders, subcontractors, and team members.

Proficiency in project management software and tools, such as Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project.

Commitment to safety, quality, and excellence in all aspects of project delivery.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities : Develop and manage comprehensive project plans, schedules, and budgets. Coordinate with stakeholders to define project scope, goals, and deliverables.

Monitor project progress, identify potential risks, and implement mitigation strategies. Lead and mentor a multidisciplinary project team.

Ensure projects comply with all relevant regulations, standards, and best practices. Implement quality control processes to ensure high standards of project delivery.

Conduct regular project reviews and audits. Manage project budgets, track expenditures, and ensure cost-effective resource allocation.

Prepare and present financial reports to stakeholders. Identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements.

Qualifications : Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Transportation Engineering, Project Management, or a related field.

Professional Engineer (P.Eng) designation or Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred. Minimum of 7+ years of experience in transportation project management.

Strong knowledge of transportation infrastructure, including roads, highways, bridges, and public transit systems. Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
