Participants are enrolled in GROW Women Leaders transitional jobreadiness training program for 4 to 6 months. Participants work asProduction Assistants in the Nurture s caf meals packaging dry foodmanufacturing and production and develop the transferable jobskills and workplace behaviors required by entrylevel employers.
Participants attend weekly classes such as computer trainingfinancial literacy academic remediation planning &organizing career coaching resume writing mock interviews andnetworking.
The goal is to equip and assist a Participant with thenecessary skills to secure mainstreamemployment.
EssentialJob duties
1.Attending onsite training sessions on Food Safety Workplace Safetyand Introduction toManufacturing.
2.Assembly line manufacturing and packaging of meal prep dry foodproducts gift sets and gift boxproduction.
3.Learn weight and measures quality control / standards safety andhealth regulations and proper packingand
labeling.
4.Ensure freshness of food and ingredients by checking for qualitykeeping track of old and new itemsand
rotatingstock.
5.Weigh measure and mix ingredients according to Standard OperationProcedures (SOP s) usingvarious
productionequipment as outlined in theSOP.
6. Loadoperate and clean machines or equipment used in the productionprocess or assist machineoperators.
Abilityto observe equipment operations so that malfunctions can bedetected and notify operators ofany
malfunctions.
7.Remove products machine attachments or waste material from machinesand productionarea.
8. Liftand transfer raw materials finished goods / products and packed itemsmanually or using pallet jacksand / or
carts.
9.Perform production duties including cleaning work areas andequipment.
10.Count finished products to determine if product orders arecomplete.
11.Dump materials such as prepared ingredients into machine hoppers orbins prior to mixing by machinesor
manually.

12.Package / case products label and adhere Best By Dates (BBD)according toSOP.
13.Record information such as the number of products producedtraceability and dates and times ofproduct
production.
14.Participate actively in regular performance assessment evaluationsand meet or exceed performancemetrics.
15.General cleaning including production area breakroom locker areaandbathrooms.
16.Other duties asrequired.
EssentialRequirements Knowledge andSkills
1.Ability to demonstrate attention to details and followdirections.
2.Ability to sit stand walk squat kneel and lift for long periods oftime throughout theday.
3.Ability to tolerate repetitive motions of hands wrists andarms.
4. Workwith strong spices orders and allergen foodproducts
5.Lift up to 50 lbs and frequently move objects to / from productiontables racking systems andpallets.
6.Able to write in English and read recipes instructions SOP s andunderstand verbaldirections.
7.Ability to do physical labor and other physical tasks withinestablished standards of speed andquality.
8.Workers must be punctual andreliable.

Environment
Thisposition is in a manufacturing and production environment withconcrete flooring general noise from machinery and officelighting.
