What you’ll do
PartnerStack is seeking a Strategic Finance Manager with SaaS experience to drive budgeting, forecasting, planning and financial analysis in a fast growing SaaS marketplace startup.
You will not only be responsible for the forward looking financial models, but also the communication of company business results through in-depth analysis and reporting of monthly revenue, operating expenses and KPIs.
This numbers crazy person will provide financial insights to help drive operational efficiencies to ensure the department leaders maximize the effectiveness of their investments in growth and their impact on top line growth.
You will report directly to the CFO and work cross-departmentally with executive leaders in the organization.
The successful Strategic Finance Manager will :
- Drive business impact through data-driven financial analysis across a wide range of SaaS and company performance measures
- Manage a monthly reporting process that brings key insights to the Executive team, the Board and investors about the financial performance of the company and influence key business decisions
- Develop and spearhead a process that supports the dynamic modelling of our subscription and variable transaction revenue lines, as well as departmental operating budget that drive accountability into the business and provide a reliable base for budgeting and cash forecasting
- Work with the Data team to ideate, develop, create ongoing business metrics, reports, data visualizations and analytical solutions that provide stakeholders access to business metrics and insights
- Build strong relationships across Accounting, Operations, Sales, Marketing, Customer Success, Product, Engineering and Executive teams to gather meaningful insights that will enhance our product and business goals
- Drive operational excellence in the finance reporting process
- Oversee the data and insights created for the Finance section of the quarterly Board package
- Manage monthly and quarterly reporting with investors and lenders
- Perform business analysis and requirements gathering to support a variety of finance and business operations initiatives ranging from marketplace expansion to international currency payment projects to a venture capital fundraising round
You're a great candidate if you have...
2+ years SaaS financial analysis experience, preferably supporting sales, revenue and departmental OpEx in a SaaS-based business.
SaaS experience is a must have.
- In-depth experience working with business leaders to build budgets, projections and forecasts from scratch, cross-departmentally for a SaaS startup
- Creating and driving a process to provide monthly financial analysis and insights to management, the Board and investors
- Expertise manipulating large amounts of data for business modelling and ad-hoc analysis in Google Sheets and Excel
- On the job understanding of the B2B SaaS model / gets B2B SaaS sales motions
- Smarts to tease out a story from the numbers and to prove out or disprove business strategies and tactics using financial analysis
- Proficiency in Pigment (FP&A application) is a strong plus
- Exposure raising venture capital and / or a venture debt
- Experience with marketplaces and / or payment platforms is also highly desirable
- MBA or Honors Bachelor of Commerce from a top university program
