About the work environment :

Peoples Group offers a flexible and hybrid work environment. In this role you will work a combination of in-office and remotely from home.

Typically, you'll be working regular business hours, Monday to Friday between 8 : 00am and 4 : 30pm with flexibility around start & end times.

Hiring Location :

We are hiring for this position out of our Toronto and Vancouver offices. Successful candidates who apply outside of these areas will be expected to relocate and reside in a location that is within a commutable distance.

About you :

Utilize your strong business analysis skills and project management expertise to collaborate with enthusiastic business units in delivering world class customer-focused solutions.

You have strong communication and collaboration skills to act as a bridge between our business units, IT department, vendors, and external partners.

You thrive in planning, managing, and leading the delivery of comprehensive business and system requirements for banking and financial services that adhere to organizational standards and frameworks.

About you / qualifications :

  • Minimum of 5 years of business and systems analysis experience in the financial services and banking sector in Canada.
  • Familiarity with the Canadian Payments Landscape and functional expertise in Payments Canada EFT / Real-Time Rail, INTERAC e-Transfer, SWIFT, and ISO 20022.
  • Hold a post-secondary degree in IT Systems, Business Administration, or equivalent.
  • Proficient in working with Waterfall and Agile / Scrum methodologies.
  • Skilled in client and third-party vendor interactions.
  • Experience in the software development life cycle.
  • Proficient in supporting team members in implementing regulatory compliance for project deliverables, ensuring alignment with regulatory bodies such as The Office of the Superintendent of Financial Institutions (OSFI), Payments Canada (CPA), Bank of Canada (BOC), The Financial Transactions and Reports Analysis Centre of Canada (FINTRAC), Autorité des marchés financiers (AMF), and the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada (OPC).
  • Ability to analyze and diagram process activities, data flows, API calls, and money movement.
  • High proficiency in JIRA, Confluence, MS Office suite (Outlook, Visio, Excel, SharePoint).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and facilitation skills.
  • Capable of understanding business concepts and conducting independent research to define business requirements.
  • Strong analytical ability with keen attention to detail.
  • Critical thinking skills and a proactive approach to identifying and solving issues.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team setting.
  • Skilled in identifying inefficiencies, overcoming obstacles, and developing effective solutions.
  • Demonstrate a sense of urgency in achieving objectives.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a results-driven mindset.
  • Thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced, multi-entity environment and remains resilient under pressure.

About the day-to-day :

  • Plan, prioritize, and execute business and systems analysis activities for Waterfall or Agile / Scrum projects.
  • Utilize appropriate elicitation techniques to facilitate collaborative sessions with diverse business and technology stakeholders.
  • Analyze potential system enhancements and create robust business requirements outlining necessary changes, desired outcomes, and potential benefits.
  • Support or lead the creation of project artifacts as required.
  • Gain a deep understanding of problems and develop clear requirements to drive accurate solution implementation.
  • Apply analytical thinking to pinpoint root causes of issues.
  • Take ownership of researching and identifying effective solutions.
  • Identify suitable tools and techniques to address business and operational challenges and provide actionable recommendations.
  • Coordinate UAT activities and assist with QA tasks such as defining test scenarios, test cases, acceptance criteria, conducting smoke testing, and reporting results.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to lead initiatives focused on delivering improved business outcomes and exceptional customer experiences.
  • Develop plans and accurate estimates for requirement completion, continuously enhancing the level of detail and accuracy.
  • Manage risks, assumptions, and constraints related to requirements and communicate effectively with stakeholders and partners.
  • Facilitate collaborative sessions with diverse business and technology stakeholders to drive business and systems requirements discovery, analysis, and review.
  • Identify opportunities for improvement and lead the implementation of quick wins.
  • Serve as a change agent.
  • Contribute enthusiastically to building the Business Analysis Center of Excellence and IT PMO.

Annual Compensation :

Peoples Group is pleased to offer employees a competitive annual salary and discretionary profit share opportunity. Salary for this position will vary between $85,000 and $95,000 per year depending on the knowledge, skills, abilities & experience that the chosen candidate possess.
