The Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) is Canada’s largest academic health sciences centre dedicated to mental health and addiction.
Research in the General Adult and Health Systems Psychiatry Division is focused on diverse interests, including clinical treatment trials, brain imaging, brain stimulation, genetics and health services research.
Position Description :
The General Adult and Health Systems Psychiatry Division is currently recruiting a full-time, 12-month contract, Research Manager to support on-going research activities.
This role will report to the Research Operations Manager, Clinical Research and the Division Chief. The Research Manager will oversee all research study operations, including :
- Collaborating with study investigators and stakeholders
- Manage all aspects of human resources including recruitment, hiring, training, and daily supervision of staff
- Provide fiscal management and support the reporting obligations associated with each grant
- Monitor key performance indicators and support quality and safety initiatives
- Co-ordinate and facilitate current and new research projects
- Assist in writing new grants and protocols
- Adhere to and meet REB and regulatory requirements
- Oversee and manage all aspects of clinical trials including multi-site projects including, participant recruitment, enrollment, and study protocols.
The successful candidate will work closely with the Research Operations, Services and Support Office, and will collaborate with other CAMH departments, to ensure alignment of research operations, meet and maintain institutional, regulatory standards and department requirements including : Biosafety, Safety, Contract Development, Research Ethics Board, Finance, Human Resources, Information Technology, and Support Services.
As a key member of the team, the successful incumbent will be expected to work collaboratively on projects with cross-functional teams, both internally and externally.

This position is located at 1001 Queen Street West, with travel between sites, as necessary. This role requires on-site presence with the opportunity of remote work on occasion.
Minimum Requirements
You will possess a Masters degree in a clinical research related field in the mental health domain (e.g. psychology, neuroscience, etc.
and at least three (3) years of clinical research operations experience with demonstrated leadership capabilities.
You will possess a good understanding of the Canadian and U.S. grant funding landscape, and experience in managing multi-site studies.
Specific experience in Health Canada regulated clinical trials is a major asset. The candidate will have demonstrated experience in hospital / grant accounting and reporting as well as proven analytical, organizational, conceptual, and decision-making skills in a dynamic fast-paced environment.
Experience managing staff is required and management in a unionized environment is an asset. The candidate will possess superior leadership and communication skills, both written and verbal.
Candidates require the ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds. Bilingualism (French / English) and / or proficiency in a second language are an asset.
Candidates will be proficient in the following software applications : Access, Excel, REDCap, or other database softwares.
