Job Description
We are presently recruiting for a Manager (the "candidate")to join the Finance Business Partner team in the Management Analytics (MA) group within the Finance department.
MA provides financial information and insights on performance, cost, and exposures to enable management decision-making at both the department and total Fund levels through the Finance Business Partners.
Reporting into the Director, Finance Business Partner, the candidate will be responsible for supporting private investingdepartments, providing input to drive fit for purpose reporting, analytics, and insights across investment performance, cost, and exposure.
The role will be positioned to develop an extensive network across the Fund to collaborate and execute on accountabilities.
The candidate will require knowledge of financial and investment analysis concepts, combined with strong analytical and effective communication skills.
Role-Specific Accountabilities :
Work with the Director, Finance Business Partner to : Support the preparation of investing department financial analysis to communicate the story behind the numbers to investing departments and management stakeholders, leveraging data visualization tools, and supporting analysis.
Support the development of analytical capabilities to generate insights on investing department performance and use of resources (workforce, costs, capital).
Coordinate within and across departments to ensure accuracy, completeness and relevancy of information supporting financial reporting and analysis.
Provide support and direction during the annual business planning process in developing an annual and long-range budget to support the departments in execution of their strategy and ensuring alignment with expectations (in the form of budgets and business objectives) prior to the start of the fiscal year.
- Develop and foster effective partnerships within Finance and across departments; collaborate with key subject matter experts to drive financial analysis, reporting and communications.
- Develop and foster effective working relationships within the team and across groups at CPP Investments, including investing departments and the Office of the Chief Investment Officer.
- Address ad-hoc business requests to facilitate Board discussions, support evaluations of investment programs and strategies, and identify drivers of value-add.
- Actively support the development and mentorship of junior team members.
Qualifications
If you possess the following, we’d like to hear from you :
- 6+ years of progressive experience in a role involving financial analysis and reporting, stakeholder communication, team leadership and project management.
- Undergraduate or graduate degree in Finance, Accounting, or related discipline; professional designations (CFA, CPA, MBA) are considered assets.
- Demonstrated experience managing multiple stakeholders to deliver on desired outcomes.
- Highly organized with an ability to manage and oversee multiple deliverables within competing time-sensitive deadlines.
- Strong presentation and communication skills with experience building compelling presentation decks.
- Ability to combine a commercial approach to decision-making with a natural curiosity in understanding the details, to provide situation-tailored solutions and recommendations.
- Proven experience in SQL, Python, Tableau and / or Power BI is considered an asset.
