Description :

As a Water Resources Engineer, you will support projects that span multiple disciplines within our organization in order to deliver high quality and sustainable solutions to our clients.

Your experience in the industry and / or consulting, as well as your project and people skills will enable you to make a difference in our industry and inspire new and better ways to implement engineering and water management solutions.

Responsibilities :

  • Hydrological and hydraulic analyses, assessment of climatic data, and development of detailed water balances.
  • Analysis of drainage and erosion problems, analysis of watercourses, the delineation of floodplains, and experience in small and large river systems.
  • Water resources data analysis and statistics.
  • Design of surface water management structures and systems, water intakes, and earthworks projects from feasibility through to issued for construction packages.
  • Producing and reviewing technical reports and communication of results to clients and regulators.
  • Contribute to projects by incorporating the input of many different parties into well-written reports and deliverables.

Produce high quality models, research, presentations, client reports and technical proposals.

  • Assist with cost estimation, schedule and strategy development for water infrastructure projects.
  • Complete front-end, preliminary and detailed design in a variety of technical contexts.
  • Foster critical relationships with clients, technical and non-technical staff, government representatives, and technology suppliers.
  • Interface with other departments to develop and implement multi-disciplinary project strategies.

Position Qualifications :

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited curriculum in Civil or Environmental Engineering.
  • Master’s Degree an asset.
  • 10+ years of applicable experience in industry or the consulting sector with a focus on Water Resources and Water Infrastructure.
  • Registration with the Engineers and Geoscientists British Columbia (EGBC).

Experience :

  • Industry experience in mining required.
  • Experience with industry-specific permitting and regulatory processes required.
  • Experience in hydrology and hydraulic design and engineering required.
  • Experience in mine water balance modelling in GoldSim is considered an asset.
  • Experienced in all phases of project development : conceptual, preliminary, detailed design, construction assistance, commissioning, and operational support.
  • Experienced in operations, including commission, an asset.
  • Quick learner, ability to manage change and work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.
  • Excellent English communication skills, and experience in preparing and reviewing technical reports.
  • Proven leadership, business development and client communication skills.
