HVAC Refrigeration Technician

$48.18 to $51.88 per hour

A day in the life :

You will be responsible for providing service to various clients throughout Vancouver Island. As Apprentices your responsibilities will be to learn all aspects of a Journeyperson's role.

Your immediate responsibilities include, but are not limited :

• Fill out reports accurately out reports, providing notes where necessary
• Tag equipment and record model and serial numbers
• Safe handling of refrigerant and filling out refrigerant logs
• Support Journeyperson on service and construction jobs
• Perform basic HVAC / R Maintenance
• Perform basic refrigeration pipping practices
• Perform basic hardware (ex : hinges and door closers, door gaskets)
• Reclaim gas
• Perform pressure testing, evacuating, and charging

What you bring :

• Registered with ITA . Exceptions may be made for out-of-province workers with the appropriate and equivalent qualifications
• Ozone Depleting Substances certification
• Valid Driver's License with a relatively clean driving record
• Ability to lift upwards of 50lb
• Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude
• Ability to communicate fluently in English
• Must be available to work overtime and participate in the on-call rotation
• Able to occasionally travel to work at other locations as needed, or travel for training purposes
