For more information, check out this video about *INTERNAL APPLICANTS* Internal applicants must utilize their Key Accountabilities Reporting to the Executive Director-Human Resources, the Manager, HR Operations , is responsible for developing and delivering the Human Resources priorities for Bethany’s strategic Business Plan, ensuring Bethany achieves its vision, mission and values.
This position acts as a partner to the Operations Leadership Team and Site Administrators, advising on strategic workforce solutions and ensuring HR is meeting its operational commitments that support resident and tenant care.
Leading a team of 7 HR Team members, The Manager, HR Operations is accountable for : Labour & Employee Relations, Recruitment and Retention, Processes, Procedures and Service Level Agreements.
What You Will Do Accountable for the development, reporting and delivery of Human Resources priorities for Bethany’s strategic business plan.
Performance measures include :
- Engages Leaders interdepartmentally to support people objectives and business priorities across organizational portfolios
- Prepares quarterly reports on behalf of the Human Resources department for the Chief Operating Officer; Quality, Ethics and Safety Committee;
and the organizational Business Strategy
Accountable for the strategic development and delivery for Bethany’s HR Operations. Performance measures include :
- Ensures all labour relations activities including bargaining, grievance management and union business are consistent and in alignment with Bethany’s Labour Strategy.
- Provides guidance to the HR team and sites when necessary
- Stays informed of industry and provincial labour activity and is aware and shares how this may impact Bethany’s Labour Strategy
- Builds key relationship with industry professionals to stay informed of best practice for HR Operations in Continuing Care
- Identifies opportunities to improve operational efficiencies through service level agreements, policies and / or processes
- Ensures consistent application of Bethany’s policies, collective agreements, procedures and standards
- Ensures a consistent approach to investigation of employee misconduct . respect in the workplace, conflict of interests, safety, resident care concerns, etc.
- Ensures meaningful relationships are built between HR Team and all stakeholders with both confidence and a customer service orientation
- Identifies Talent strategies to attract and retain high performers and critical healthcare workers
- Develops and oversees engagement objectives including Top Employer, Scholarships & Awards and stay / exit interview process
- Responsible for ensuring Executive Leadership is informed of emerging issues with HR Operations and Total Rewards
- Supports legal counsel with preparation for sensitive files and litigation
- Ensures workflow activities of direct reports are coordinated in an effective and efficient manner
- Ensures a high standard of performance and a service excellence orientation by providing regular feedback and enforcing policy, procedures and standards
- Utilizes the services of external consultants where appropriate
- Manages the consultant relationship
What You Bring :
- Bachelors’ Degree in Human Resources or equivalent experience
- Chartered Professional in Human Resources (CPHR) is preferred
- 7+ years’ progressive and direct experience in Human Resources including Labor & Employee Relations and Talent Acquisition
- 2+ years in a management role
- Experience in healthcare related field is considered an asset
- Experience in case management of complex ability, accommodation, and performance management is a requirement
- Experience working in multi-site, multi-union workplaces an asset
- Excellent analytical skills, with strong ability in Excel and HRIS platforms
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
