The Position

As a member of our Investment Banking group in Calgary, you will be an integral part of the critical role we play in providing an intimate link to the capital markets and expert financial advice on mergers and acquisitions.

Our selected candidate will play a key role in all aspects of developing and executing transactions, including financial analysis, transaction modeling, conducting due diligence, preparation of presentation materials, preparation of offering documents and executing live financing and M&A transactions.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or technical discipline relevant to the energy sector, including Engineering or Geology;
• 1-2 years of relevant investment banking, research or oil and gas industry experience;
• Experience in the energy sector is highly preferred;
• High proficiency in accounting and financial statement analysis;
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment;
• Excellent understanding of business, economics and finance as demonstrated through academic achievement, work experience and personal interest;
• A proven ability to learn complex concepts quickly, take on new responsibilities and demonstrate sound judgement;
• Strong quantitative and analytical skills, attention to detail and technical skills (Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft Word, geoSCOUT, S&P Capital IQ, Bloomberg, etc.);
• Enrollment in or completion of certain professional designations including CFA, CPA or P.Eng. would be considered an asset.
