Position Overview :
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Applications Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for leading the development of comprehensive proposals for reuse and treatment projects, leveraging their expertise in process design, technology selection, and cost estimation.
The successful candidate will play a crucial role in driving the growth of our business by delivering tailored solutions that meet the unique needs of our clients.
Key Responsibilities :
- Proposal Development : Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop technically sound and commercially competitive proposals for water treatment projects, encompassing a wide range of applications and technologies.
- Process Design : Utilize expertise in water filtration, membrane separation, and treatment processes to design innovative solutions that optimize efficiency, reliability, and performance.
- Pre-FEED and FEED : Lead the pre-FEED and FEED phases of project development, ensuring that proposed solutions align with client requirements, industry standards, and regulatory guidelines.
- Pilot Studies : Oversee pilot studies to validate proposed treatment technologies and processes, analyze results, and incorporate findings into final proposals.
- Technology Selection : Stay abreast of emerging water treatment technologies and trends, and recommend optimal solutions based on project objectives, technical requirements, and economic considerations.
- Cost Estimation : Develop accurate cost estimates for proposed projects, considering factors such as equipment, materials, labor, and ongoing operational expenses.
- Client Engagement : Engage with clients to understand their needs, preferences, and challenges, and tailor proposals to address their specific requirements and objectives.
- Presentation and Thought Leadership : Present at conferences and events to showcase expertise and engage with large technical audiences.
Actively participate in online forums as a thought leader in water treatment innovation and best practices.
- Business Development : Leverage strong regional and industry connections to identify opportunities, build relationships, and support business development efforts.
- Technical Marketing : Develop technical marketing material to support online marketing campaigns, including white papers, case studies, and technical articles.
- Onsite Evaluations : Visit client sites to conduct onsite evaluations, gather requirements, and provide technical support as needed.
- Project Delivery : Manage complex projects from initiation to completion, adhering to budget, timeline, and quality objectives.
Qualifications :
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
- Professional Engineer (P.E.) designation is required.
- Minimum of 15 years of progressive experience in a similar role within the water / wastewater treatment industry, industrial utility fluid processing.
- Extensive experience in applying chemical, physical and biological treatment schemes in the field including start up and on going operational support.

- Strong business acumen with the ability to understand and analyze market dynamics, identify opportunities, and develop competitive strategies.
- Proven track record of building and maintaining strong regional and industry connections, with a deep understanding of client needs and preferences.
- Active involvement in industry associations and professional organizations related to water treatment and environmental engineering.
- Solid process engineering background, with expertise in designing and optimizing water treatment processes for various applications and industries.
- Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to assess technical and commercial feasibility, risks, and opportunities.
- Effective communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts to diverse stakeholders.
- Possession of a valid driver's license and willingness to travel as required.
