We have an immediate need for a Data Center Manager / Associate Director Quantity Surveyor to join our client in Quebec. This is a work in Quebec position with the requirement to visit Data Center sites to manage client expectations and deliverables.
NOTE : THIS JOB IS FOR : Quebec City & Requires Relocation.
Working Arrangement : Site and Home in Quebec
Relocation : If you do not live in Quebec, relocation is required (the company will cover moving fees and a small amount).
Compensation : $160-180K Base + Bonus
Preferred Experience : WSP, Hanscomb Limited, Pomerleau, GBI Experts-Conseils, Stantec, SNC (consulting side), or experience working as the "owner's rep" for companies like PCL, Turner, etc.
Responsibilities :
- Provide daily guidance on what needs to be done, ensuring subcontractors are aligned, projects are progressing smoothly, and trades are managed effectively.
- Manage the success of 3 data center projects in the Quebec region.
- Oversee all cost management plans and initiatives, including cost control, project costing, quantity surveying, and managing project execution on-site.
- Balance responsibilities between quantity surveying and cash management, including follow-up assessments, project progress tracking, cost management, and project management.
- Work face-to-face with clients daily, ensuring trades follow the plan and design of the facility / data center.
- Handle scopes of work, reporting to clients, cost reports, project budgets, progress payments, change orders, monthly payment applications, payouts for subcontractors, and post-contract systems setup.
Qualifications :
- 8+ years of experience managing large multimillion-dollar projects, preferably at a Tier 1 / 2 consulting or management company in the AEC / Design-Build or MEP space.
- Experience in cost control and management of large-scale complex projects, preferably in Data Centers or similar industries.
- Pre- and post-contract cost management experience.
- Quantity Surveying background is ideal, with certifications such as RICS, PQS, or CIQS.
- Strong budgeting experience is required.
- Experience managing crews of 2-3 people on a job site and in the office.
