The Position
The FSQA is accountable for implementing and maintaining the HACCP program and to ensure that the Company’s objectives for food safety, quality assurance and regulatory compliance meet or exceed internal policies, regulatory requirements, third party audits and customer requirements.
Here are the specific responsibilities that await you :
- Manage the food safety and quality program verification and validation activities to ensure proper and effective implementation of Food Safety and Quality Assurance System.
- Manage the reassessment of programs on an annual basis or when there are changes to process, changes to the products, new product development.
Implements or updates programs as required.
- Is the SQF practitioner for SQF Food Safety Code and SQF Quality Code.
- Lead and prepares all external audits such as CFIA, SQF, customer and other third-party audits.
- Assist in following-up on audit findings by develop / implement root cause analysis, corrective actions and preventative actions.
- Lead the internal audit program including quality assurance and food safety monitoring activities; trains the internal audit team audits.
- Lead and reports mock recall and traceability exercises, to ensure compliance with internal, customer, regulatory and GFSI requirements.
- Maintain all records, ensures all non-conformances are communicated to the appropriate departments and follows-up on findings accordingly by implementing root cause analysis, preventive actions and corrective actions.
- Validate statistical analysis of CQP’s, CP’s, CCP’s critical limits regarding Quality and Food Safety of the products.
- Assess training needs related to Food Safety and Quality for all departments in the plant.
- Conduct on-site verifications for pre-requisite programs. Follow-up on non-compliance and communicate results to management team.
- Ensure the allergen program is followed confirming that quality & food safety standards are met.
- Perform sampling for allergen and cleaning validation as required.
- Perform water, air, tools, hands, environmental sampling as needed.
- Assist in investigation of customer complaints and any non-conformance issues.
- Provide orientation and refresher training on GMP, policies, procedures and other quality & food safety functions.
- Lead the monthly HACCP and Quality team meetings; distributes and follows-up accordingly.
- Maintain supplier database up-to-date in compliance with CFIA, SQF and customer requirements.
- Maintain good laboratory practices at all times.
- Support other quality and food safety tasks as required.
The ideal skills to meet the challenge are :
- Have a minimum of two (2) years of experience a similar position such as coordinator or SQF practitioner
- Should be able to work with team / individually with less supervision
- Take responsibility / accountability of duties related to SQF implementation, and Maintenace
