Our client a leader in the industrial manufacturing space for 60 plus years has an immediate opening for a Plant Controller. The Plant Controller is vital in ensuring accurate financial reporting, safeguarding company assets, and driving strategies that enhance profitability and operational efficiency. If you are a strategic thinker with strong leadership skills and expertise in financial management, this position offers an excellent opportunity to make a significant impact.
Responsibilities :
- Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting processes, ensuring compliance with Canadian standards and corporate guidelines.
- Oversee cost accounting and inventory valuation processes, including standard costing and variance analysis.
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning, delivering insights to improve decision-making.
- Collaborate with plant leadership to identify opportunities for margin improvement and waste reduction.
- Ensure adherence to tax regulations, audit requirements, and corporate policies while mitigating financial risks.
- Support lean manufacturing initiatives by providing financial expertise and analysis.
- Develop and mentor the finance team, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
- Perform ad hoc financial analysis and reporting as required to support operational needs.
- Monitor capital management processes to ensure optimal allocation of resources.
- 7 - 10 years of progressive cost controlling experience with full plant controller responsibility, including at least 3 years in a manufacturing leadership role
- Strong knowledge of cost accounting, inventory management, operations and ERP systems
- Proven experience partnering with operations to drive cost improvements and efficiencies with demonstrated margin or cash flow impact.
- Strong business acumen with the ability to connect financial results to operational performance.
- Advanced analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
