JOB DESCRIPTION
Within its Canadian head office located in Toronto, Ontario, SEI has an immediate opening for a highly motivated, results-orientated Manager-Fund Administration ( Manager ).
This position would report to the Chief Operating Officer of SEI Canada.
The SEI Canada’s Fund Administration Team (the Team ) is responsible for overseeing the fund administrator, custodian and trustee to the SEI proprietary mutual funds.
Including, but not limited to; Net Asset Value (NAV) oversight, regulatory filings, financial statements and audit, expense monitoring for the funds, tax reporting and global market openings.
The Manager will work closely with SEI’s global teams and third party service providers to ensure the funds are in compliance with Corporate Policies and Regulatory Requirements.
The position will include significant interaction with the various SEI business units and business partners, including the Investment Management Unit, the auditor of the funds, Legal & Compliance and other SEI competency units in the design, development and implementation of SEI’s investment products.
What you’ll do :
This individual will work with team members to stay abreast of changes to laws and regulations affecting the funds in Canada including a deep understanding of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), regulatory requirements and various National Instruments (NI) including NI 81-102, NI 81-106 and NI 31-103.
Responsible for the review, filing and delivery of the financial statements and management reports of fund performance and quarterly portfolio disclosure.
Ongoing fund oversight of the SEI proprietary funds (includes oversight of fund NAV processes, trade reconciliations, corporate actions, etc.).
Oversight of all tax related items for the funds (includes distributions, tax returns, HST / GST).
Co-ordinate Fund audits including engagement planning, responding to audit queries, preparing related documentation.
Identification of new or emerging fund issues and implementation of processes to address these issues efficiently.
Act as liaison with numerous functional groups in the design, development and implementation of procedures across the fund complexes.
Manage Valuation and Fair Value / Manual Pricing Committee activities and prepare reporting for Boards and Committee participants as required.
Ensure appropriate disclosure according to regulatory requirements for investment products and changes in IFRS accounting policies.
Prepare and review Fund expense budgets, including MER tracking and waivers / absorptions.
Ensure accurate and timely delivery of recurring and ad hoc Fund information such as performance, portfolio holdings, security classifications, portfolio breakdowns, etc.
for internal and external users.
Design and enhance financial reporting controls.
Maintain accurate operational procedure documentation.
Identify and implement improvement initiatives and continuously seek improved efficiency.
What we need from you :
University degree in accounting, business, finance or economics
A minimum of 7 years of investment industry experience with a focus on fund accounting and financial reporting
Detailed understanding of securities pricing, performance calculations and impact on Fund level NAVs
Advanced Microsoft Office product suite skills, particularly Excel
Ability to work well both in a team environment and independently
Strong project management and organizational skills
Capable of multi-tasking and prioritizing in a fast-paced environment to meet deadlines
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Professional designation such as CPA desirable but not required
