We are seeking a Welfare Administrative Assistant to join our BPA team at our Chesswood office (3750 Chesswood Dr., North York).
In this role, you will be responsible for processing employer benefit contributions, tracking member information related to hours and enrollment, and ensuring accurate reporting to determine member benefit plan entitlements.
You will also play a key role in identifying employer payment discrepancies and initiating collection efforts.
Working Hours : Monday - Friday : 8 : 30am to 4.30pm
Special Working Condition : rotating shift schedule Saturday 8 : 00am-12 : 00pm
The Welfare Administrative Assistant will :
- Process reciprocal hours transfer requests received from affiliated locals on behalf of members
- Run monthly queries to identify discrepancies in member records, such as double coverage
- Produce letters requested by members to confirm benefit status, eligibility, and dependent information.
- Respond to inquiries from members, employers, and union representatives
- Liaise with the CCO office to print daily delinquency reports and investigate issues
- Log contribution reports received by mail and analyze employer contribution discrepancies
- Issue outstanding balance summaries and correspondence to employers
To be successful as a Welfare Administrative Assistant with BPA, you will need :
- Fluency in Spanish and / or Italian is required
- Experience in office administration and clerical processes, particularly in data analysis and account reconciliation
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel and Word essential)
- Strong attention to detail and ability to analyze discrepancies
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Customer service and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize workload, and meet deadlines
- Strong communication skills
- The ability to work in close coordination with plan members, union representatives and staff
All-star candidates will have :
- Excellent analytical, financial, and mathematical abilities
- Proficiency in bookkeeping programs and related software
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
- Familiarity with Collective Agreements and associated benefit plans.
- Knowledge of the BPA Delinquency Guide.
- Experience in performing detailed numerical computations.
