The Site Director has two functions : Assist the WRHA Regional Medical Specialty Lead (RMSL) in planning and coordinating the Program system-wide.
As the Medicine Site Lead at the Hospital, ensure effective and efficient delivery of care at Grace Hospital.The Site Director works in close collaboration with the other Manager(s) responsible for the Internal Medicine beds and consultation services, including the Physician Bed Manager(s) responsible for the utilization of those beds.
This is a part-time job, approximately 5-6 hours per week, and may require attendance at evening meetings.The Site Director has a dual reporting structure : The incumbent will report to both the RMSL, Internal Medicine of the WRHA and ultimately to the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) of the Authority for the overall planning and coordination of service delivery of the Site Internal Medicine Program.
For day-to-day activities, the incumbent will report to the CMO of the Site.The Site Director also liaises with the academic Department Head (Internal Medicine) for contractual issues, as well as for enhancing teaching and research activities, as appropriate.
QUALIFICATIONS : Be licensed to practice medicine in the Province of Manitoba.Hold an FRCP(C) in Internal Medicine or equivalent.
Have a full-time appointment to the Department of Internal Medicine at the University of Manitoba at the Rank of Assistant Professor, or higher.
Desired Skills, Abilities, Attributes : 5 years or more of experience in a medical leadership role is a strong asset, but not required.
Understand, and have a willingness to work to achieve WRHA goals.Have demonstrated strong teamwork skills.Have knowledge and experience in management functions including strategic planning, human resource and financial management.
