Pharma Medica Research is a full service contract research organization specialized in conducting early phase clinical trials in healthy volunteers, special and patient populations.
We currently have a need for a F acility and Transportation Assistant to join our Scarborough team!
The Facility and Transportation Assistant is responsible for cleaning according to protocols and guidelines at Parma Medica Research Inc.
PMRI ), interior and exterior maintenance, and transportation of samples and other items between the Clinic and Head Office location and additional deliveries and pickup to and from various locations.
This position reports to the Supervisor, Clinic Administration.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Clean and disinfect all areas within the facilities including but not limited to Subject Selection, Screening, Lobbies, Corridors, All Administration Offices, Return Rooms, Check-In Rooms, Shipping & Handling, Storage, Laundry, Washrooms, Showers, Kitchens, All Clinic, and adjoining rooms.
- Transport pick up or drop off clinic supplies & equipment to and from designated locations.
- Floor maintenance - sweep, mop, floor polish, auto-scrubber
- Carpet maintenance - vacuum spot clean, and steam clean
- Move furniture as required
- Remove garbage and recycling waste to designated area for disposal.
- Maintain interior garden and pond
- Maintain exterior grounds and perimeter of building for spring / summer / fall season includes grass & shrubs area; mowing the lawn and trimming and pick up garbage.
- Maintain exterior grounds and perimeter of building for winter season includes snow and ice removal, salting, snowblower and snowplowing driveway and parking lot and pick up garbage.
- Maintain the janitorial supply room.
- Assist with general building maintenance repairs, painting, inhouse services.
- Assist and escort Service Contractors.
- Transportation of Dangerous Goods, samples and other items between the Clinic and Head Office locations.
- Other duties as required.
Health & Safety Duties and Responsibilities
All employees shall work according to the applicable provisions set out in the Occupational Health & Safety Act (section 28), in addition to all health & safety policies and procedures as set out by PMRI .
Requirements :
- Completion of High School
- No previous related experience required general computer skills necessary
- Excellent communication skills including excellent English verbal and written skills.
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with other clinical staff.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Valid drivers' G license in good standings
- Ability to work both independently and as a team member.
- Knowledge of general repairs
- Experience handling hand tools
- Some experience with equipment such as and not limited to hand tools, auto scrubber, snake machine, floor polisher, lawn mower, snowplow, and snow blower.
