LOCATION : Liner Mill, 111 Progress Avenue
Provide vacation relief coverage for regular shift supervisors and warehouse day supervisors.
RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Reliably support the achievement of annual Mill objectives in the following areas :
- Safety & Environmental Leadership
- Employee Engagement & Morale
- Quality
- Production
- Cost
- Promote and ensure a safe work environment and a safety conscious work force. Actively solicit employees’ safety concerns and enter corrective work orders and / or suggest solutions as appropriate.
- Ensure that site environmental standards are maintained.
- Enter work orders to address equipment malfunctions on shift.
- Follow-up on daily clean & inspect tasks of each crew member.
- Ensure all product quality standards are met consistently.
- Formulate concise problem statements regarding any significant process or quality deviations to aid further breakdown analysis or root cause analysis.
- Ensure employee weekly time sheets are accurately recorded in Kronos and that all overtime opportunities (accepted / refused) are entered in Kronos.
- Oversee the reliable operation of the paper machine, stock prep, ETP and boiler.
- Provide regular feedback to employees on performance and communicate areas for improvement.
REQUIREMENTS :
- Post secondary education or equivalent related work experience required.
- Must have good leadership skills with above average communication skills.
- Must be familiar with Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), Lean Practices, or other continuous improvement methodologies.
- Previous experience in a paper mill environment is an asset.
- Good organizational skills and the ability to prioritize.
- Ability to work autonomously and with little direction in a high volume, fast paced environment.
This role would entail working in rotating / continental shifts - 12 hour shifts for 2 to 3 days in a week. However on a normal basis, you will be working in a 40 hours per week
