Job description
We are seeking a data-driven and strategically minded Marketing Analyst in supporting one of Canada’s leading financial institutions. In this role, you will be the engine behind the success of our clients consumer banking portfolios, specifically focusing on high-growth areas like cash-back rewards and premium credit card offers. Your primary objective is to research market conditions across local and national landscapes to determine the potential reach and sales performance of their financial products. You will act as a key advisor by gathering competitive intelligence and identifying the most effective distribution methods to drive customer acquisition.

Advantages
Advantages of the Role

High-Impact Portfolio: Work directly on high-visibility campaigns, such as national "Smart Cash" initiatives and tiered banking offers that affect millions of Canadians.

Strategic Influence: Your insights won't just sit in a spreadsheet; they will directly influence how one of the Big Five banks positions its products in a highly competitive market.

Innovation & Autonomy: Gain the independence to devise and evaluate your own research methods, from complex surveys to predictive trend modeling.

Professional Growth: Collaborate with an elite group of marketing professionals, statisticians, and product owners within a sophisticated corporate ecosystem.

Responsibilities
Role Responsibilities

Market Intelligence: Gather and analyze data on competitors, specifically focusing on interest rates, cash-back percentages, and fee structures to ensure our products remain market leaders.

Trend Forecasting: Track marketing and sales trends for consumer banking products, providing data-backed forecasts to help the leadership team anticipate market shifts.

Performance Measurement: Rigorously measure the ROI and effectiveness of specific advertising and communication programs, determining which channels drive the highest conversion for new accounts.

Research Design: Devise and implement sophisticated data collection methods, including digital surveys, opinion polls, and questionnaires, to capture the "voice of the customer."

Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with statisticians and pollsters to interpret complex consumer data and translate it into actionable marketing strategies.

Operational Oversight: Direct and manage trained survey interviewers and external vendors to ensure data integrity and project timelines are met.

Qualifications
Role Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Analytics, Economics, or a related field.

Experience: 2–4 years of experience in market research or data analysis, preferably within the financial services or insurance sector.

Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of the principles of promoting and selling financial services, as well as modern media dissemination techniques.

Soft Skills: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with a proven ability to negotiate and manage stakeholders.

Self-Management: A high degree of independence and the ability to manage complex timelines with minimal supervision.

Summary
The ideal candidate is someone who thrives at the intersection of consumer psychology and hard data. You understand that behind every "Smart Cash" offer is a wealth of data waiting to be interpreted. If you are a proactive researcher who can turn competitive analysis into a winning market strategy for a premier financial brand, we want to hear from you.
