The Toronto Financial District Business ImprovementArea (FDBIA) represents Canada’s premier businesscentre, an area that includes Union Station, the PATHunderground walkway and Canada’s five major banksand most prominent firms.

Membership includes all commercialproperties and businesses in the Financial District. As the urban place management organization for theFinancial District, initiatives include improving publicspaces, showcasing daily activity of thrivingbusinesses, andidentifying collaborative opportunities that ensure theFinancial District and PATH are well-maintained,integrated, connected and accessible.

The Executive Director of the FDBIA reports to the Board of Management and is responsible for day-to-day oversight of the organization.

The Executive Director implements Board policy decisions and ensures the mission, objectives, goals, plans, and services of the FDBIA are clearly defined and adhered to through the effective utilization and administration of the FDBIA’s human, financial, and physical resources.

This position entails strategic leadership to establish long range goals, strategies, plans and policies, as well as overseeing detailed execution.

Additionally, the Executive Director must be adept at navigating a host of relationships with the public and private sectors and obtaining support from various stakeholders on both specific and broad matters.

The ideal candidate possesses a diverse professional background spanning government, business, and organizational management.

They excel as communicators, fostering strong relationships and maintaining an excellent business reputation within a multi-stakeholder environment.

With solid interpersonal skills, they can enhance team capacity and cross-functional integration. Adaptable and pragmatic, they seamlessly transition between strategic thinking and daily operations, navigating relationships with both large organizations and small businesses.

Their financial acumen ensures organizational stability, while their results-driven approach and community involvement underscore their commitment to excellence.
