Job description

At Sienna, we empower our team members across Ontario, British Columbia, Saskatchewan and Alberta to help our residents live the life they desire and deserve. Our purpose is simple: to cultivate happiness in daily life!

What Sienna Offers:

We aspire to cultivate an environment and culture where team members feel valued, heard and empowered to do meaningful work. We offer a number of programs and benefits that support team members’ financial, personal and professional needs:

  • A competitive compensation and vacation package
  • Employer Paid Health & Dental Benefits
  • RRSP with Company Match
  • Share Ownership and Reward Program (SOAR)
  • Employee Share Purchase Plan with Company Match
  • Continuous learning and growth so you have the skillset needed to succeed and take on new challenges
  • A welcoming culture that values diversity and differing perspectives, experiences and beliefs

What You’ll Be Doing:

Reporting to the Director of Cyber Security, the Manager, Network and Security is responsible for the management, and oversight of Sienna's enterprise network and security infrastructure. This role owns the architecture, deployment, and lifecycle management of the organization's Fortinet security ecosystem — including FortiGate, FortiManager, FortiAnalyzer, FortiSwitch, and FortiAP platforms — and provides management oversight across LAN, WAN, wireless, network security, and Azure cloud networking, ensuring highly available, secure, and scalable services that support business operations across multiple locations.

Leading a team of network and security professionals, the Manager, Network and Security sets technical direction, manages staff performance and development, and partners closely with Cybersecurity, Cloud, and Operations leadership to align network architecture with enterprise security strategy. This position serves as the escalation point for critical network and security incidents, owns vendor and budget management for the network security program, and drives the ongoing evolution of the organization's network architecture while maintaining exceptional reliability and performance.

How You’ll Succeed:

  • Own the architecture, technology roadmap, and lifecycle management of Sienna’s enterprise network infrastructure (LAN, WAN, routing, switching, wireless, network security) across multiple locations, including a large-scale environment of 100+ firewalls, 600+ switches, and 6,000+ wireless access points.
  • Own the end-to-end architecture, deployment, and lifecycle management of Sienna’s Fortinet security ecosystem (FortiGate, FortiManager, FortiAnalyzer, FortiSwitch, FortiAP), setting technical standards for firewall policy, VPN connectivity, network segmentation, and secure remote access.
  • Direct network upgrades, migrations, and technology modernization initiatives, managing budget, vendor, and resource allocation to minimize operational disruption.
  • Establish enterprise network standards, documentation, and operational runbooks, and oversee capacity planning and performance optimization to ensure highly available, resilient network services.
  • Serve as the senior escalation point and decision-maker for complex network and security incidents, directing root cause analysis, problem management, and permanent corrective action.
  • Direct the design and governance of Network Access Control (NAC) policies, and oversee vulnerability remediation, firmware upgrades, and security hardening initiatives.
  • Partner with Cybersecurity leadership on incident response, compliance, and secure-by-design practices, and provide day-to-day operational support for enterprise security tools in coordination with the Security Operations team.
  • Provide management oversight for enterprise wireless infrastructure across all locations, and guide the team on Azure networking (Virtual Networks, Network Security Groups, VPN Gateways, ExpressRoute, Azure Firewalls) and secure hybrid connectivity.
  • Ensure enterprise Cloud VoIP solutions are effectively deployed and administered, including voice quality, SIP connectivity, QoS, and call routing.
  • Own recurring security metrics and reporting for leadership, and serve as first-line escalation for security incident response.
  • Own vendor and contract management for network and security tooling, negotiating pricing, service levels, and renewals in partnership with Procurement and Finance.
  • Develop network governance standards, change management practices, and disaster recovery/business continuity planning, and contribute to enterprise roadmap planning and technology evaluations.

Who you are:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of progressive networking and security experience, including 6+ years hands-on with FortiGate technologies in large-scale enterprise environments (100+ firewalls, 600+ switches, 6,000+ wireless access points).
  • Prior leadership or supervisory experience within a network or security function, with a proven ability to manage staff, vendors, and competing priorities.
  • Fortinet Network Security Expert (NSE) certification or equivalent, with deep expertise across the Fortinet Security Fabric (FortiGate, FortiManager, FortiAnalyzer, FortiSwitch, FortiAP).
  • Security certification such as CISSP or CompTIA CySA+ (or equivalent experience).
  • Extensive expertise in enterprise routing and switching (VLANs, STP, SD-WAN, DNS, DHCP, NTP, VPN, QoS) and experience implementing Network Access Control (NAC) solutions.
  • Experience designing and supporting Azure networking and hybrid cloud connectivity, including Azure Firewall, ExpressRoute, VPN Gateways, and Network Security Groups.
  • Experience overseeing wireless network design across large, multi-site environments, and with SIP, Cloud VoIP, and telecommunications vendor coordination.
  • Strong troubleshooting, documentation, change management, and vulnerability management experience, with the ability to explain technical decisions clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong people-management skills, including performance management, coaching, staff development, and vendor/budget management.
  • Experience in healthcare, seniors living, or other regulated multi-site environments, or transitioning network services from a managed provider to an in-house model, is considered an asset.

What you need to know:

  • The salary range for this position is: $96,655.00-$
  • This is an on-site position at our Shared Support office in Markham
  • Any offer of employment will be conditional upon a criminal background and references check.
  • This posting is for a new position
