Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role located in Ottawa, ON for a Lead Furniture and Decor Consultant. As a Lead Furniture and Decor Consultant, you will be responsible for providing exceptional design advice and guidance to clients.
Your day-to-day tasks will involve collaborating with clients to understand their vision and preferences, developing design concepts, sourcing materials and furnishings, creating mood boards, and overseeing the implementation of design projects.
A key aspect of your role will be building and maintaining strong client relationships while delivering high-quality design solutions.
Key Responsibilities :
- Oversee and manage the West of Main Shoppe team, including managing the hiring, training, and supervising of the Shoppe employees.
- Lead and consult on Shoppe Decor Consultations and Furniture and Decor Projects.
- Maintain supplier relationships and establish new ones.
- Assist Co-Owner and Principal Designer with buying.
- Oversee inquiries via email, phone, and social media to ensure all customers are responded to promptly.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to team members in a weekly 1 on 1 meeting.
- Provide critical feedback and training to ensure everyone communicates and provides our customers with the same cohesive style.
- Coordinate with Customer Service and Shipping Logistics to provide exceptional and detail-oriented service.
- Communicate weekly with the Principal Designer to provide updates, and always be willing to ask questions, learn, and offer constructive feedback.
- Collaborate and communicate with internal department leaders to resolve any issues or concerns and optimize the flow of orders from draft to delivery.
- Implement creative strategies to ensure a positive attitude among the team.
- Manage all refunds, exchanges, and / or supplier credits.
- Manage the showrooms and ensure products are properly displayed and tagged.
Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of interior design principles and techniques
- Experience in residential and commercial design projects
- Proficiency in design software and tools
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to understand and interpret client needs and preferences
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
- Proven ability to work well in a team
- Knowledge of current design trends and styles
- Bachelor's degree in Interior Design or related field is preferred
- 3 years of experience with AutoCAD is a must.
