Job Title : Accounting Clerk Trusts
JobDescription :
The Accounting Clerk Trusts playsa critical role in maintaining the financial integrity of trustaccounts and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
Thisposition involves a variety of accounting tasks that support theoverall financial operations of the firm.
Responsibilities :
- Maintain and manage trust account records ensuring alltransactions are accurately recorded.
- Preparefinancial statements and reports related to trustaccounts.
- Conduct regular reconciliations oftrust account balances and resolve discrepancies in a timelymanner.
- Assist in the preparation of taxreturns and ensure compliance with all relevant taxregulations.
- Respond to inquiries from clientsand internal staff regarding trust account transactions andbalances.
- Assist in the development andimplementation of accounting policies and procedures for trustaccounts.
- Support internal and external auditsas needed providing relevant documentation andexplanations.
- Stay updated on changes in lawsand regulations governing trust accounts and accountingpractices.
EssentialQualifications :
- Postsecondaryeducation in accounting finance or a related field.
- Strong accounting knowledge and familiarity withaccounting principles.
- High proficiency inMicrosoft Excel and other accounting software.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizationalskills.
- Strong written and verbalcommunication skills.
DesiredExperience :
- Previous experience inan accounting role preferably related to trust accounting is anasset.
- Experience in a professional servicesenvironment is preferred.
- Familiarity withcompliance standards in the accounting field.
Salary & Benefits :
- Salary Type : Annual
- Currency : Dollars ($CAD Canada)
- Benefits after 3 months of probation period including :
- Group Benefits plan covering Extended HealthDental and other insurances.
- The firm pays100% of the premiums for Single coverage and 75% for familycoverage.
- Employees cover 100% Life InsuranceLongTerm Disability (LTD) ShortTerm Disability (STD) and 25% ofDental and Extended family premiums.
- Approximate cost for Dental & Extended familycoverage premiums is $21.00 per pay.
- Eligibility to join Retirement Plans (RRSP) after 3months with matching contributions starting after 1 year (up to 4%of salary increasing to 5% after the second year).
