We are seeking anexperienced Intermediate Electrical Engineer with a strongbackground in heavy industrial projects to join our dynamic teambased in Toronto.
As an Intermediate Electrical Engineer you willplay a crucial role in the design implementation and maintenance ofelectrical systems for heavy industrial facilities.
You willcollaborate with multidisciplinary teams including project managersarchitects and other engineers to ensure the successful of projectswithin budget and schedule constraints.
Morespecifically you will have to :
- Designand develop electrical systems for heavy industrial projectsadhering to industry standards codes and regulations.
- Develop electrical system layouts singleline diagrams anddetailed schematics using computeraided design (CAD) software incollaboration with designers.
- Perform loadcalculations voltage drop analysis and short circuit studies toensure optimal system performance and reliability.
- Select and specify electrical equipment such astransformers switchgear motor control centers and instrumentationconsidering project requirements and technicalspecifications.
- Prepare technicalspecifications scope of work documents and cost estimates forelectrical equipment procurement and installation.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrateelectrical systems with other disciplines such as mechanical civiland structural engineering.
- Conduct fieldinspections and assessments to verify compliance with designspecifications and resolve any technical issues that may ariseduring construction or installation.
- Assist inthe commissioning and startup of electrical systems ensuring properfunctioning and troubleshooting any operationalproblems.
- Provide technical guidance andmentorship to junior engineers and technicians.
- Stay updated with industry trends emerging technologiesand applicable electrical codes and standards.
- Assist with proposal works including manhours estimatescope of work methodology andother.
Ouressentials
- Bachelorsdegree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation oreligibility for registration with the Professional EngineersOntario (PEO).
- Minimum of 10 yearsof relevant experience in heavy industrial electrical engineeringincluding power distribution motor control lighting andinstrumentation.
- Strong knowledge ofCanadian Electrical Code (CEC) Ontario Electrical Safety Code(OESC) and other relevant industry standards.
- Knowledge of computeraided design (CAD)software for electrical system design.
- Experience in conducting load calculationsvoltage drop analysis and short circuit studies using engineeringsoftware.
- Familiarity withelectrical equipment selection specification and procurementprocesses.
- Ability to collaborateeffectively with multidisciplinary teams andstakeholders.
- Excellentproblemsolving skills and the ability to think critically incomplex engineering situations.
- Strong communication skills both written andverbal to effectively convey technical concepts andinformation.
