The Project Manageroversees the planning implementation and tracking of a specificshortterm project with a beginning an end and specifieddeliverables.
The Project Managerperforms a wide range of duties including some or all thefollowing :
- Planthe project and define the scope of the project in collaborationwith seniormanagement.
- Createa detailed work plan which identifies and sequences the activitiesneeded to complete the projectsuccessfully.
- Determinethe resources (time money equipment) required to complete theproject.
- Develop a schedule for project completion that effectivelyallocates the resources to theactivities.
- Reviewthe project schedule with senior management and all other staffthat will be affected by the project activities; revise theschedule asrequired.
- Determinethe objectives and measures upon which the project will beevaluated at itscompletion.
- Staffthe project in consultation with the appropriate manager recruitinterview and select staff and / or volunteers with appropriateskills for the projectactivities.
- Manageproject staff and / or volunteers according to the establishedpolicies and practices of theorganization.
- Ensurethat personnel files are properly maintained and keptconfidential.
- Ensurethat all project personnel receive an appropriate orientation tothe organization and theproject.
- Contactqualified consultants to work on the project asappropriate.
- Implementtheproject
- Executethe project according to the projectplan.
- Developforms and records to document projectactivities.
- Setup files to ensure that all project information is appropriatelydocumented andsecured.
- Monitorthe progress of the project and make adjustments as necessary toensure the successful completion of theproject.
- Establisha communication schedule to update stakeholders includingappropriate staff in the organization on the progress of theproject.
- Reviewthe quality of the work completed with the project team regularlyto ensure that it meets the projectstandards.
- Writereports on the project for management andfunders.
- Communicatewith funders as outlined in fundingagreements.
- Monitorand approve all budgeted projectsexpenditures.
- Monitor cash flow projections and report actual cash flow and
variance to
senior management regularly (monthly / bimonthly).
- Manage all project funds according to established accounting policies and procedures.
- Ensure that all financial records for the project are up to date.
- Prepare financial reports and supporting documentation
- Ensure that the project deliverables are on time within budget and at the required level of quality.
- Evaluate the outcomes of the project as established during the planning phase. Qualifications
