About the Opportunity
Our client, a highly regarded full-service business law firm, is seeking an experienced Banking & Lending Paralegal to join its Vancouver office.

This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented and motivated professional to join a top-tier banking and debt financing practice, working alongside a collaborative team on a sophisticated and varied portfolio of transactions.
The successful candidate will play a key role in managing financing files from start to finish, while contributing to a supportive and team-oriented environment with strong operational structure and coverage.

The Role
Reporting to the banking and finance team, the successful candidate will be responsible for managing a high volume of lending transactions and supporting lawyers on complex financing matters.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Reviewing governing facility letters
Conducting and reviewing due diligence searches
Drafting correspondence to borrower’s counsel and other stakeholders
Preparing, reviewing, and finalizing loan and security documentation
Attending to registrations and security filings
Reviewing executed documents and identifying deficiencies
Conducting post-registration searches
Drafting payout letters and coordinating closing and funding
Finalizing reporting letters, opinions, and ancillary documents
Following up on outstanding deficiencies and closing matters
Managing final reporting and file completion

Qualifications & Experience

Paralegal certificate or diploma from a recognized institution
Minimum 5+ years of experience in banking and lending within a law firm environment
Proven ability to independently manage a high volume of transactions
Strong understanding of lending and secured financing processes
Excellent organizational and time management skills
Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to prioritize and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving abilities
Collaborative team player with the ability to work independently
