We are currently looking to hire an National Property Claims Examiner to join our National Property Claims team.
In this role, you will be responsible for both the oversight and management of third party adjusted claims and direct handled claims.
Unlike the large loss adjusters who are on site and gather information directly, the examiners provide direction and oversight over the execution of the required steps and customer service rendered by a Third Party Adjuster.
You will ensure alignment with Aviva's best practices and handling procedures. You will manage the IA in the investigation, quantification, analysis, adjustment, and settlement of property claims.
With a focus on quality and customer service, you will need to work with appropriate specialists and premier vendors. The work will be conducted in an efficient manner to control the indemnity spend and expenses without compromising the delivery of outstanding customer service.

What you'll do :
Responsible for a portfolio of examining and direct handle property claims, percentage share based on demand
Resource field work to be completed by IA by setting clear expectations and timelines and managing the file through to completion.
Arrange market calls or work with various insurers on subscription claims.
Prepare and be able to present a complete file strategy, coverage analysis, disposition and business case
Investigate claims by reviewing the IA reports and specialists in order to acquire facts and information to analyzing the loss.
Review and compile facts, policies, technical reports, analyze estimates, value of claim, and settle claims.
Communicate claim adjustments via written reports to all parties. This will be based on the policy wording and circumstances surrounding the loss to resolve the claim.
Provide outstanding service to our customers
Responsible for data accuracy and issuing payments to vendors, insureds, and specialists.
Ensure all correspondence is completed in a timely and effective manner including the creation of Critical Path Letters, Proof of Losses, and Reservation of Rights letters etc.
Responsible for recognizing questionable claims, subrogation, and risk opportunities.
What you'll bring :
Detailed knowledge of the property insurance industry
At least 5+ years of commercial and residential property experience
Strong construction knowledge
Strong digital literacy
Strong solid understanding of property insurance case law
Detailed knowledge of a variety of property coverage wordings
Some basic accounting skills
Outstanding communication and negotiation skills
Excellent report writing skills
Licensing in NB, PEI & NFLD (asset)

Salary range : $65,000 - $90,000
