About the Role

We are looking for a Controller to join our Finance team! This role will be an important addition to our high-performing team as our business continues to grow.

In this role, you will work closely with our existing bookkeepers, payroll, and CFO to support key operational and financial processes that enable 8Twelve to continue to grow.

This position is responsible for the timely and accurate recording of general ledger transactions, including the completion of the month-end general ledger close budgeting and quarterly forecasting.

You will also work on monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting and analysis.

Requirements

MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES :

Oversee the operations of the accounting department, including the design of an organizational structure adequate for achieving the department's goals and objectives.

Prepare and maintain the Corporate legal entity financial statements and other supporting working papers for tax filing and audit.

Maintain the intercompany loan structure and equity structures and provide necessary accounting support.

Manage annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting process for the Corporate entities.

Oversee monthly loan interest collection and remittance to investors.

Oversee the development and implementation of new accounting systems and processes.

Coordinate the provision of information to external auditors for the annual audit.

Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.

Contribute to improving the efficiency of our processes.

Assist with special projects, as necessary.

SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES :

An assertive self-starter with a positive attitude, excellent organization and analytical skills, ability to manage multiple demands, good time management skills, and possesses a keen attention to details.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Proficiency with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and GAAP.

Must be computer-literate and have proficient knowledge of MS Excel and MS PowerPoint.

Experience using Xero and Quickbooks.

Experience in multi-entity environment with knowledge of intercompany relationships.

Ability to develop constructive relationships, in order to work with other departments in the Corporate office, to ensure smooth and timely collection of information required for various accounting and operational purposes.

Must be organized, and detail-oriented.

EXPERIENCE, QUALIFICATIONS & EDUCATION :

Candidates should have a minimum of seven years experience in a computerized accounting environment. Mortgage and Lending Finance experience would be an asset.

University degree and a professional accounting designation (CPA) required.
