The Retail Customer Platforms Technology team supports the ongoing enhancement, development, implementation, and day to day operational support of Offer Management platform (Customer Personalization Platform), Pricing & Rates, Day to Day banking core systems as well as advisory deposits systems platform.

The Business Solution Expert will work closely with the product owner and business analysts to understand the business functions and requirements.

The individual will work with offer management applications that provide offer configuration, tracking and fulfillment for Scotiabank customers across different retail products.

The candidate will report to the Senior Manager Development for Retail Customer Platforms Technology.

Is this role right for you?

  • Manage a holistic end to end view of all the testing across the Director portfolio.
  • Drive QAT Strategy and governance with Automation as a KPI
  • Coach and Guide QAT and Dev team on automation tools and standards
  • Define and enforce testing standards, best practices, and methodologies across all application teams leading to better quality control.
  • Manage complex projects and programs that impact number of applications
  • Provide Analysis and Planning for Medium to large initiatives that span across multiple application teams
  • Standardization of Quality metrics for applications
  • Independently and objectively directing and managing work efforts of one or more project teams
  • Drive team towards test automation, application, and domain knowledge creation, building of regression and common function test baselines.
  • Ensures proper controls and processes are followed and meets established function, quality, cost, and schedule goals & objectives associated with application development or system projects
  • Ensure traceability of Test Scenarios and Test Cases to requirements and Stories.
  • Oversees the analysis, design, estimation, execution, and support of all assigned projects, including resource planning, budgets, interfaces with business lines and global teams
  • Experience with vendor management, SOW negotiations, hiring and onboarding of QA resources.
  • Single point of contact for QA team.
  • Responsible for overall Test Management, Preparation / review of Test Strategy, Master & Detailed test plan, Traceability Matrix.
  • Monitoring and tracking of overall progress and Defect Management.
  • Act as escalation point for unresolved testing issues and collaborates with development project managers.
  • Monitor implementation of test processes across projects.
  • Participate in governance meetings, publishes overall project status report on periodic basis and Identify areas of continuous improvement.
  • Use standardized project management methodology to guide all projects in a consistent, organized, and reliable manner
  • Champion a high-performance environment and contribute to an inclusive work environment.
  • Introduce and influence overall process improvements and act as an agent for change to the organization.
  • Champion a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems, and knowledge.
  • Understand how the Bank's risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role?

  • Experience with MS Project, Clarity and SharePoint
  • Possesses Certification PMP, CPM being preferred
  • Experience with working in agile and waterfall methodology
  • 8 years of Quality Assurance experience, with proficiency in testing and requirements management.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Solid understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC) and agile methodologies.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Experience with test automation frameworks and tools is a plus.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Positive and resilient personality - Able to embrace feedback and have a desire for continuous iteration and improvement.
