Job Summary
Reporting to the Manager, Aviation Security, this position is responsible for the investigation and audit of aviation security processes.
Duties & Responsibilities Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to : Conduct thorough investigation of reported aviation security hazards or incidents defining contributing and root causes through use of appropriate analysis tools Liaise with departmental managers to identify and implement the necessary corrective action to hazards reported to the Security Management System Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and IATA operational safety standards relevant to a commercial air operator Participate in the evaluation of the security critical processes of alliance partners that are relevant to Porter aircraft Preparation of audit plans, checklists, sampling plans and other audit documentation related to assigned audits Develop detailed and evidence-based reports for all assigned audits Maintain the confidentiality of organizational security reporting systems and information acquired in the course of investigation and audit duties Serve as a Safety Ambassador and resource for all employees Actively participate in Porter’s Safety Management System (SMS) including, reporting hazards and incidents encountered in daily operations;
understand, comply and promote the Company Safety Policy Any other duties as assigned Behavioural Competencies Concern for Safety : Identifying hazardous or potentially hazardous situations and taking appropriate action to maintain a safe environment for self and others.

- Qualifications Working knowledge of Transport Canada requirements for aviation security and the IATA operational safety audit program A minimum of 3 years' experience in commercial flight operations Experience in the IOSA certification of a commercial air operator in the area of aviation security Previous experience as an aviation internal auditor Excellent time management, written and verbal communication skills;
- keen attention to detail Impartiality, integrity, tenacity, diplomacy and self-reliance are key attributes University degree, certification as an Aviation Security Professional and / or acceptable combination of education, training and / or related work experience Ability to secure and maintain an all Canada Restricted Area Identity Card Must maintain a valid passport;
must be able to travel domestically and internationally when required on short notice
