About Invictus Games 2025 :
The Invictus Games is a biennialinternational adaptive sporting competition for wounded injured andsick service personnel and veterans from around the world.
Throughthe power of sport the Games inspire recovery supportrehabilitation and generate a wider understanding and respect forthose who have served theircountry.
The Invictus Games Vancouver Whistler 2025will take place from February 8 to 16 2025 on the traditionalterritories of the Lil wat7 l(L l wat) x m k y m (Musqueam)S wx w 7mesh (Squamish) ands lilw ta (TsleilWaututh) Nations.
Over 500 woundedinjured and sick service personnel and Veterans from more than 20nations are set to compete in a wide range of adaptive sportsincluding adaptive winter sports for the first time in InvictusGameshistory.
The Vancouver Whistler Games Corporation(VWGC) is a Canadian notforprofit organization established toorganize and host the Invictus Games Vancouver Whistler2025.
TheRole
The Content Marketing Strategist at theInvictus Games Vancouver Whistler 2025 presented by ATCO and Boeingis responsible for the strategic development of marketing contentthat aligns with our overall strategic Marketing and Communicationsplan.
This role focuses on the planning for and oversight of theproduction of highquality engaging and impactful content acrossvarious communications platforms.
The Content Marketing Strategistwill bring strong demonstrated experience in strategy developmentand execution a passion for storytelling and will thrive oncollaboration with internal teams and external stakeholders todrive engagement and relevant audience growth all while maintainingthe organizations brand identity andvoice.
Key Areas ofResponsibility :
- Createand implement a comprehensive content marketing strategy alignedwith the goals and objectives of the Invictus Games2025.
- Overseethe endtoend social media management process from initial strategydevelopment to content planning and performance measurement workingdirectly with the digital communications coordinator responsiblefor the daytoday updating of the content calendar creating andposting content and community management.
- Identifytarget audiences and tailor content to resonate with diversestakeholders including competitors veterans and service membersfamilies sponsors and the generalpublic.
- Craftcompelling narratives through the production of highqualityengaging and relevant content across various channels includingsocial media blogs newsletters videos andmore.
- Planand develop content calendar that promotes our storytelling effortsthat aligns with brand guidelines and maintains the integrity ofour Invictus Games 2025brand
- Developand ensure the strategic execution of social media campaigns toincrease brand awareness and drive engagement audience growth anddirectly contribute to marketingKPIs
- Monitorsocial media trends and conversations to inform content strategyand drive communityengagement.
- Collaboratewith internal teams external agencies freelance contributors brandambassadors and volunteers to generate a wide range ofcontent.
- Aleading (high contributing) member of the team working withexternal suppliers to create video and photography assets tosupport communications across various channels.
- Workclosely with internal teams including marketing communicationspartnerships community engagement and more to understand theircontent needs and align with organizationalgoals.
- Coordinatewith partners & sponsors and other stakeholders to amplifycontent reach andimpact.
- Researchand gather information from various sources to curate content thatsupports the IG25s initiatives highlights success stories andraisesawareness.
- Trackand analyze content performance metrics including reach engagementand conversion rates using analytics tools. Use insights tooptimize content strategies and improve audiencetargeting.
Qualifications SkillsCompetencies :
- Postsecondarydegree or diploma in communications marketing graphic designvideography photography journalism or a relatedfield.
- Strongwriting editing and storytelling skills with a keen eye fordetail.
- Excellentdesign editing and proofreading skills with a keen eye fordetail.
- Creativethinker with a proactive approach to problemsolving andinnovation
- Proficiencyin content management systems (CMS) social media platforms andanalyticstools.
- Provenexperience with SEO keyword research and contentoptimization.
- 5years experience in content creation for social media channelswebsites newsletters digital marketing and other communicationschannels.
- Abilityto take concepts and ideas and create visual representations acrossallmediums
- Abilityto collaborate with various stakeholders to drive mutual successfor Invictus Games and respective sponsorsbrands.
- Experienceworking with design photo and video editingplatforms.
- Familiaritywith content managementplatforms.
- Experiencein analyzing content performance using analytics tools and drivingactionableinsights
- Ateamfirst work ethic thriving in a fastpaced environment and managemultiple projects simultaneously with competing deadlines andeffectively managing a diverse group of stakeholders.
- Proficiencyin a MS Office 365environment
- Knowledgeof the Invictus Games adaptive sports and the militarycommunity.
- Experienceworking in the sports nonprofit or events industry is anasset.
- Fluency(written & verbal) in French is anasset.
