AtkinsRéalis is pleased to offer a challenging and rewarding career opportunity for an experienced Application Engineer in our Toronto city office.
As a key member of our Project Execution team, you will be responsible for leading and contributing to the requirements gathering, development, testing, and commissioning of MES solutions.
You will be the main point of contact for selected customers, building strong relationships with them. As a member of a growing team, you'll have the opportunity to develop and grow within the company.
Expected compensation for this role is between Pay Range $90,600 - $124,600 annually. Base salaries are determined according to several parameters like skills, experience, and potential impact on the role.

Your role within the team :
Depending on mandates, assume responsibilities as application engineer :
- Assist with the preparation of budgetary estimates based on RFQ and scope of work documents provided by the customer.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to program Allen Bradley, Siemens and Schneider Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) for the integration with MES and HMI solutions designed by the customer and its MES software supplier
- Carry out successful implementations in line with customer requirements, standards, budget, and schedule.
- Write technical documentation, including requirements specifications, design specifications, and test protocols for SCADA and MES solutions.
- Provide technical advice and consultation to customers.
- Deploy programs on customers' systems remotely.
- Support Go Live activities including troubleshooting and making corrections when necessary.
- Develop and deliver end-user training.
- Provide ongoing support to customers.

The ideal candidate :
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, mechatronics engineering, computer science or automated production, or experience deemed equivalent.
- A minimum of 5 years' experience in MES integration.
- Experience in agrifood or pharmaceutical industries
- Proven experience in implementing solutions using any major MES vendor.
- Programming skills in industrial PLCs (Rockwell SLC 500 and ControlLogix, Schneider, Siemens, etc.)
- Experience with industrial SCADA Applications (FactoryTalk View, AVEVA (Wonderware) System Platform, WinCC, etc.)
- Proven experience with Microsoft SQL Server or other database technologies.
- Programming skills in one or more programming languages (Visual Basic, Java, C#, Python, etc.).
- Ability to liaise and work directly with customers, including experience of requirements gathering and on-site commissioning.
- Willingness to travel to customer sites on occasion.
