Commercial Manager
Position Overview
Reporting to the Director, Business Development this role is responsible for the development and execution of a sales strategy, and associated initiatives, which support the company’s revenue and profitability plans.
Within the AEC (Architectural / Engineering / Construction) community the role will generate sales leads, qualify, and communicate value proposition and solutions within a target segment.
Own the day-to-day tasks of networking, expanding brand awareness, qualifying leads, assist & support lunch and learns and marketing events.
Contributing towards closing his / her own deals with the support of the broader team along with prospecting new logo opportunities into profitable revenue.
Business Development will lead the process until the project is handed over to the Project Management team.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Nurture and secure relationships with key account members within the AEC community to drive and close sales, secure, and increase new client pipeline base.
- Bolster the company’s overall market presence and positioning by prospecting, promoting, and organizing educational sessions on product with industry partners.
- Attain an in depth understanding of the benefits of our products and solutions and be able to community our value positioning to new customers to promote and build brand loyalty.
Develops sales by making initial presentation; explaining product and service enhancements and additions; introducing new products and services.
- Contributes information to sales strategies by gaining an understanding on current competitive landscape, product, identifying needs to be filled, analysing and relaying customer reactions.
- Enhances department’s effectiveness by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different request; exploring creating strategies and opportunities to add value to the job accomplishments.
- Achieve and exceed KPI’s set by the Sales department on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
Requirements and Experience :
- The ideal candidate shall have a post-secondary education in engineering, construction, architecture, or related field.
- MUST have 5-10 years of experience in a contract sales & business development role within the Window wall, Façade, ACM, Curtain Glazing industry, with a demonstrated record of success in selling and developing new business.
- MUST be able to provide at least 5 recent projects showcasing the sale and system.
- Excellent understanding of the energy and building science codes and processes.
- Demonstrated experience managing multiple opportunities through the various sales stages to contract.
- Engaging and highly effective interpersonal, communication and presentation skills that cultivate and grow lasting business relationships both internally and externally.
- Highly collaborative abilities and be able to respond quickly and effectively to ever-changing situations to deliver a best-in-class service to our clients.
- A strong business acumen, maturity, and the ability to work effectively with others.
- A superior working knowledge of MS Office suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
- A valid driver’s license and could frequently travel provincially, and sometimes nationally and internationally.
