Are you an experienced Project Manager ready to lead a large, dynamic program team? Our client is seeking a Senior Project Manager to coordinate project activities, manage resources, and ensure timely, budget-compliant delivery.

You'll work closely with the Initiative Owner to oversee project health, risk management, and administrative tasks.

Key responsibilities include coordinating with workstream leads, managing project costs and forecasts, addressing risks and issues, and ensuring effective stakeholder communication.

Proficiency in ADO, Agile Place, Planview, and related tools is essential.

The ideal candidate has 7+ years of project management experience, is PMP certified or holds a relevant degree, and excels in Agile methodologies.

Strong communication, facilitation, and project management skills are required. Bilingualism in French and English is a plus.

12 month contract

Hybrid role : on-site twice a week at Toronto or Ottawa (Ottawa preferred)

Candidates must be eligible for Government of Canada Reliability Security Clearance (5+ years in Canada)

Responsibilities

  • Oversee a large program team (team of teams);
  • Work with the workstream leads to co-ordinate team actions on project activities;
  • Work closely with the Initiative Owner, to ensure overall health and admin (risk management and mitigation, validate monthly external invoices, process timesheets, connect with workstream leads, steerco prep)
  • Manage the deployment of project resources, proactively managing project costs, providing forecasts, and presenting variances with narrative at appropriate review points to ensure effective utilization.
  • Coordinates with project workstream leads to ensure on-time completion according to the specifications of the delivery and within budgeted costs.
  • Coordinate the identification of risks, issues, dependencies, and constraints, escalating these where appropriate. Where necessary, develop, agree on, and implement solutions to overcome these.
  • Manages, consolidates, aligns and cascades information to the key stakeholders.
  • Plan for Quarterly targets (Program Big Room Planning), and Update Planview quarterly targets to align with actual work state
  • Connect weekly / bi-weekly with workstream leads for updates to common milestones
  • Plan and coordinate the delivery of a range of information gathering, analysis, and stakeholder consultation activities and specify, negotiate, and agree on project deliverables.
  • Consolidate work progress across different work streams and bring in the Program view, experience working with ADO, Agile Place and Roadmaps is key.
  • Understands the project and workstream plans, ensuring that all the common target activities are identified, are appropriately organized and resourced to deliver project objectives, and comply with the organization's project and program management framework.
  • Manage the project review process; provide stakeholders with accurate and relevant information and key recommendations at agreed review points to enable them to evaluate progress and agree on change.
  • Review existing operations in own area of work and implement innovation processes to generate new ideas and ensure continuous improvements are delivered.
  • Develop and implement external stakeholder engagement plans for projects to identify relevant stakeholders, to develop positive stakeholder relationships, and to ensure that each stakeholder has an appropriate share of voice.
  • Proficient in : ADO, Planview, AgilePlace, Roadmaps, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, MS Teams and other related applications

Qualifications

Specific Project Requirements

  • 7+ years Project / Program management experience
  • PMP Certified or Completed an Undergraduate Degree in Business Administration, Project Management, or in a related field

Top Skills Required :

  • Knowledge and experience in working with Agile teams
  • Experience acting as an advisor and coach of teams and leaders
  • Strong and effective communication and facilitation skills
  • Proficient in tools Azure DevOps, Agile Place, Planview, Sharepoint & Roadmaps.

Other Skills Required :

  • Workshop facilitation
  • Demonstrated understanding of project management principles and practices, including creating and monitoring schedules, budgets, meeting agendas, status reporting and risk / issue management

Assets :

Bilingual in French and English
