Communication Facilitator, American Sign Language, Scarborough

Contract to hire, full-time
Monday - Friday, $28 / hour
Responsibilities will include :
- Assist the Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing in delivering an appropriate educational program for Deaf & Hard of Hearing Students.
- Assist the Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing in classroom activities, activity preparation, assisting with education support equipment.
- Provide support to Deaf and Hard of Hearing high school students in integrated classroom setting.
- Provide Communication Facilitator functions for non-classroom activities such as accompanying students to events and providing yard duty on a rotational basis.
- Perform other related duties as assigned or required.
- Providing services to high school students.
- Identifying and resolving engagement issues.
- Ensuring that deadlines and related time budgets are met.
- Developing and maintaining positive and productive working relationships with clients, co-workers and all levels of staff and management.
Qualifications :
- 3 years of experience.
- 2 year post-secondary education in American Sign Language and Deaf Studies / Communication Facilitator, or equivalent combination of relevant education.
- 6 months of related experience.
- Fluent in ASL, integrated lessons.
