Role Overview
The Institutional Product Group at Fidelity Canada Institutional is responsible for providing high quality investment product analysis and expertise.
The group is the in-house expert on a multitude of products offered across a variety of business lines both for institutional and retail clients.
The Group works closely with the Sales, Consultant Relations and Relationship Management Teams to meet the needs of the clients in coordination with the Portfolio Management Team and other key areas of the organization.
What You Will Do
We are looking for an Investment Analyst to join our team. The Investment Analyst is the in-house expert on assigned mandates and is involved in all aspects of analysis, sales and marketing of several Fidelity Investment offerings.
The Analyst provides clients with the highest level of service and plays a key role in the products’ sales success.
As a subject matter expert, you will possess in-depth knowledge and expertise of assigned Fidelity products and will maintain a solid understanding of the competitive landscape including flows and trends
Using your strong communication and relationship building skills, you will collaborate with investment managers and analysts, and will position and support the investment mandates with the sales and relationship management teams
Your strong analytical skills will be required to complete detailed quarterly portfolio reports for institutional clients
As a dedicated team player, you will support portfolio managers with client interactions, and will provide support to the retail and institutional sales team
You will also contribute to the product development process for new products within your asset class coverage and assist the marketing teams, ensuring clarity and accuracy of all product-related collateral
What you will Bring
Excellent analytical, writing, oral communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
Ability to take initiative, work independently and handle multiple tasks
Excellent time management skills with the ability to work under tight deadlines with commitment to excellence
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Working knowledge of VBA is an asset but is not required
Comfort in working with project-based goals with tight timelines
What We’re Looking For
Completion of a 4-year post-secondary degree, ideally with a business focus (Finance, Economics and / or Accounting) or equivalent work experience
Enrollment in or completion of a CFA designation or MBA will be advantageous
Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA) designation considered an asset
3 - 5 years of investment market expertise
