Summary
Under the supervision of the Manager Communications, Web and Marketing, the Marketing Officer contributes to the development and growth of programs and services offered by Saint-Paul University through strategic use of marketing and communications tools.
The incumbent will oversee the University’s internal and external marketing campaigns and will play an essential role in expanding the University’s key messaging.
Key Responsibilities
- Draft, and post content on the University’s advertising platforms (Meta Ads, Google Ads, Bing Ads, Tiktok Ads, LinkedIn etc.)
- Participate in planning, developing and implementing the marketing plan and marketing strategies that support the Service’s communication needs for various internal and external target audiences.
This includes the development of promotional material (electronic and print), Web and social media content, posters, roll-up banners, brochures, Viewbooks, etc.
- Analyze the marketing plan performance to ensure ad spending optimization
- Create and develop new innovative ways to communicate the University message to their existing and potential customers that would strengthen its positive image, promote its brand and increase its visibility;
- Work closely with external agencies and service providers on various projects (website, marketing, creative etc.)
- Create promotional material, infographics and web banners for use on website, mobile media, social media, print and video.
- Participate in the planning, organization and production of video shoots and photo shoots.
- Assist with preparation, coordination and allocation of the University’s marketing and communications budget.
- Advise senior management and professors regarding requests and issues related to communications, marketing and recruitment strategies, promotional needs and event planning;
- Work closely with the Recruitment Officers to advertise various recruitment initiatives.
- Work with senior management and professors to understand their creative and messaging needs, advise them on appropriate and relevant content based on audience, in accordance with USP messaging and style guidelines;
- Work closely with the Communication Officer;
- Develop and pilot marketing strategies using social media to communicate the University message;
- Respond to user interactions received through the University's social networks and digital platforms.
Education, Experience, Knowledge and Abilities
- Undergraduate degree in marketing or a related field
- A minimum of three (3) to five (5) years of relevant experience in a similar position (e.g., marketing project management)
- In-depth knowledge of marketing strategies and techniques, particularly for the Web and social media
- Experience in planning and implementing advertising campaigns using Google Ads or similar
- Experience with Google Analytics, preferably Google Analytics 4
- Experience in search engine optimization (SEO)
- Versatility and adaptability in performing a variety of marketing assignments
- Good presentation skills and sound mathematical and statistical skills
- Strong ability to work as part of a team
- Excellent organizational and analytical skills
- Ability to identify and assess marketing needs and issues
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
- Discipline, good judgment and a sense of initiative
- Project management experience
- Very good knowledge of the MS Office suite
- Excellent command of English and French (spoken and written)
