National Marketing and Communications Web and Design Specialist

Are you a design-focused web specialist who has a passion for driving growth, engagement and conversions?

JDRF is looking for a new team member for the role of National Marketing and Communications Web and Design Specialist to manage the JDRF / FRDJ website as well as other CMS platforms, ensuring optimal functionality including UX, UI & SEO to drive growth, engagement and conversions based on analytics and data. This position will also provide some support with the development of compelling, effective, targeted, creative that results in increased digital engagement, event participation and donations.

Here's what your primary responsibilities would be :

  • Designing and building of all website pages, working closely with internal stakeholders and content managers to ensure a consistent, optimized online user experience that is aligned to the JDRF / FRDJ brand
  • Owning the website roadmap and liaise with internal stakeholders, and work collaboratively with the National Content and Media Relations Manager to develop and expand content offerings targeted to meet the needs of the T1D community
  • Conducting content audits to ensure website is current and all copy is up-to-date
  • Over-seeing website functionality and work with AOR to resolve technical issues and deficiencies
  • Evaluating website performance and oversee website analytics with support of marketing and communications management team members, in order to identify opportunities and actionable insights for improvement in the user experience and conversion results
  • Designing marketing and communication materials for both online and offline use, including but not limited to; donor and stakeholder collateral, website assets, email marketing, print advertising, event marketing materials, presentations and social media advertising.
  • Developing clear, compelling and effective design solutions for all JDRF channels to engage key target audiences using the most effective visual representation to convey complex concepts and maximize user experience and engagement
  • Delivering creative and collateral assets for assigned projects and campaigns in accordance with collateral trackers and timelines established by the National Marketing and Communications Brand Manager

Here's what we're looking for :

Knowledge / Skills / Experience

  • 3-5 years of progressive Marketing / Communications experience in a digital-focused company or agency or and Bachelor's Degree in Web Design or related field plus an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience working with CMS systems such as Wordpress or Drupal to create and manage a corporate website
  • HTML, CSS design and JavaScript competency with applied experience building and editing pages
  • Progressive experience in digital design strategy and development and strong working knowledge of marketing and graphic design principles and execution
  • Computer proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud, including Illustrator (advanced), InDesign (advanced), Photoshop (advanced), and Microsoft Office 365 (intermediate).
  • Strong knowledge of both on and offline digital advertising production requirements, as well as experience working directly with different ad specifications, file formats, technologies.
  • Understanding of technical constraints of print and web
  • SEM and SEO, PPC (pay per click) advertising experience is an asset
  • Experience in video editing is an asset
  • Bilingual in English and French is an asset
  • Ability to work with outside agencies and creative consulting firms
  • Working style and other attributes

  • Must adapt quickly to different stakeholder needs and unique program challenges
  • Must be able to persuasively sell creative concepts to internal clients and capable of mixing big-picture thinking with a targeted design approach
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities for multiple internal / external clients in a deadline-driven environment
  • Self-motivated and service-oriented
  • Location Preference : Anywhere within Canada - this position will work remotely from a home-office
