Your Role :

We are currently seeking an Intermediate Mechanical Engineer for our Pickering ON office. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

Responsibilities :

  • Work with a team of skilled engineers, designers, procurement and construction
  • Performs, and is responsible for, varied mechanical engineering assignments requiring general familiarity with a broad field of engineering and knowledge of reciprocal effects of the work upon other disciplines / fields;
  • Solve problems by use of combinations of standard and modified standard procedures, or methods developed in previous assignments;
  • Participate in planning required to achieve prescribed objectives;
  • Responsible for supervising large groups of professionals and non-professionals or small groups of specialized engineers or as a highly specialized maintenance / technical engineer in servicing heavy industrial clients in the Nuclear Sector

Qualifications :

  • University Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline is preferred.
  • Registered or eligible to register with the PEO as a P.ENG
  • 8+ years of working experience in design, process, maintenance engineering and engineering management within in the Nuclear, Power, or Industrial Facilities is considered an asset
  • Previous Nuclear Mechanical Maintenance and / or Consulting Engineering experience is considered as asset
  • Experience in communicating with other design disciplines and having an appreciation for the impact of their designs on other design disciplines is an asset;
  • Must have strong computer oriented skills (familiarity with Autocad, MS Office, Numerical Methods Solutions.)
  • Working experience in principles and practices of nuclear engineering as applied to design and construction of projects is preferred.
  • Coaching, professional service management, communication and interpersonal skills are essential
  • Experienced in the use of MS Office suite including Word, Excel, Powerpoint.
  • Effective communication, organization and presentation skills
  • Must be able to receive Security Clearance

Additional Information

A requirement of working for Tetra Tech is that you are at least 18 years of age and legally entitled to work in Canada. (A copy of a valid work permit may be required.)
