Job Summary
The Senior Analyst, Revenue Management - Inventory Optimization is responsible for managing the company’s passenger seat inventory across its network for optimal revenue generation.
This position reports to the Senior Manager, Revenue Management Inventory Optimization. Duties & Responsibilities Develop and implement Porter’s passenger seat inventory management strategy for assigned portfolio of routes and align day to day inventory management tactics with the adopted strategy.
Analyze passenger demand using the RMS and other tools in order to determine and implement optimal seat inventory allocation strategy.
Analyze booking profiles on all assigned markets periodically to ensure optimal seat inventory and to identify opportunities to recalibrate the RM System for maximum revenue.
Develop optimization parameters and monitor alerts on all assigned markets to ensure maximum revenue is being achieved at a flight level.
Develop expert level knowledge on booking patterns, travel patterns, special events and holidays, competitors and other variables on the assigned markets.
Develop reporting and refine market level KPIs, track performance versus set goals, find revenue opportunities and close any revenue leakage holes Maintain and suggest pricing and revenue management system parameters to deliver on the chosen course of action.
Liaise with internal and external commercial and operational stakeholders to ensure policy and required customer experiences are realized on a day-to-day basis.
Support all commercial and / or applicable operational initiatives to successful completion. Ensure data and revenue integrity are paramount in all day-to-day processes, databases and dashboards.
Rectify any integrity issues. Develop and conduct training and education programs for both Revenue Management Analysts as well as other stakeholder groups as required.
Maintain high level of familiarity with Revenue Management Systems to ensure alignment with Inventory management goals. Proactively work with Pricing Team to identify and align inventory decisions with pricing strategy and also resolve any and all revenue issues.
Analyze and implement overbooking decisions inline with company policy in order to maximize flown revenue per flight and minimize denied boarding costs.
Analyze and provide fare quotations for group requests on assigned portfolio of routes. Active participation in Porter’s Safety Management System (SMS) including, reporting hazards and incidents encountered in daily operation;
understand comply and promote the Company Safety Policy. Ensure Company Values are engrained in day-to-day operations. Qualifications Minimum of 24 months of previous Airline Inventory management experience required Good knowledge of Airline Pricing, Network Planning, Distribution and Interline Partnerships University degree with a focus in Business, Economics, Marketing, Finance, Network Planning, Strategic Planning, Operational Research, Mathematics or Engineering is required.
MBA or M.Sc in the above fields is an asset Strong quantitative and analytical skills Strong organizational skills with demonstrated ability to meet deadlines Working knowledge of industry revenue management systems is required Advanced proficiency in MS Office (focus on Excel) Proficiency with database management tools and analytic tools required (SQL,etc) Solve problems through developing partnerships, finding opportunities and determining appropriate solutions
