Security Master and Pricing, Operations Director

This role will lead the CI Canadian Wealth Security Master and Pricing ( SM&P ) team. The SM&P team is responsible for providing accurate and timely reference and pricing data to all down-stream systems and lines of business across trading, operations, and regulatory obligations.

This individual will play a critical role in transforming the pricing function across all Canadian Wealth entities.

Responsibilities

  • Oversight of the SM&P team to ensure data quality of mutual funds, equities, options, corporate, government, municipal bond and alternative investment reference / market data in accordance with the firm’s policies and procedures
  • Collaborate with department heads and team leaders to implement best practices and industry leading pricing policies and procedures
  • Conducting data cleansing campaigns and coordinating vendor challenges to ensure internal and vendor data are in sync.
  • Oversight of the continuous improvement of data quality procedures and controls
  • Maintain and improve documentation and procedures regarding workflow processing and reporting
  • Provide regular updates to executive management on key initiatives and issues in order to drive business results

Experience & qualifications :

  • Minimum seven years of experience in SM&P roles, including in leadership positions with team management responsibilities
  • In-depth knowledge of end-to-end pricing at self-clearing financial institutions
  • Experience working with data from a variety of pricing vendors for mutual funds, equities, options, fixed income and alternative investments
  • Wealth management and custodian experience required

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities :

  • Strong understanding of pricing concepts and practices
  • Extensive industry experience managing security master teams
  • Drive for continuous improvement and an ability to challenge existing processes
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment to meet strict deadlines
  • A demonstrable ability to build strong and meaningful professional relationships with the organization’s executives and cross-functional business partners
  • Strong analytical, organizational, planning, and problem-solving skills and possesses the desire to find solutions
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize tasks effectively to meet deadlines.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills, able to present complex information to audiences in a succinct, easy-to-digest manner
  • A demonstrable ability to build strong and meaningful professional relationships with the organization’s executives and cross-functional business partners
  • Able to think strategically and see the big picture but then can quickly transition to a more detailed mindset to ensure deliverables are accurate and of high quality
