The role we are offering you :
As part of the Training Centers Operation (TCO) team in the Canada Defence and Security unit, you will be the regional leader for central Canada.
This Program Management position is responsible for the execution of In-Service Support contracts (ISS), for training delivery and simulator maintenance / updates.
You will also be a key member of a leadership team that supports several military training establishments across Canada.
The TCO organization is responsible for the delivery of In-Service Support contracts with the Canadian government and Prime contractors across multiple sites.
This encompasses aircrew and aircraft technicians training, as well as simulator maintenance.
Are you ready to :
Lead a team of 115+ dedicated professionals involved in providing Aircrew / Aircraft Maintenance training and simulator maintenance at the Training Centres at Trenton, Petawawa and Moose Jaw
Overall responsibility for management and leadership of the site teams, including ensuring the resources and means are available to deliver on the contractual mandate, aircrew instruction, aircraft maintenance instruction, training device maintenance and updates, and continuous improvement
Manages, recruits, evaluate, and develop a team of project managers and site managers to ensure all projects are successfully completed within time, cost, scope & quality constraints
Manages governance activities with executive management. Identifies and resolves operational problems and minimize delays.
Evaluates changes that significantly impact the scope, budget, or timeline of a project. Reviews portfolio schedule, progress, risk, and major milestones with project managers and line departments.
Manages global project portfolio risk register
Successful and positive collaboration with the customer and the Training squadrons staff
Ensure the delivery of the maintenance and customer support services meets or exceeds all contract requirements or customer needs, while respecting scope, budget and schedule constraints
Liaise with required internal CAE departments to solve issues, improve solutions, and recommend best practices
Contribute to the development and implementation of organizational strategies, policies and practices
Contribute to short and long-term organizational planning and strategy for the sites and company
Acts as principal liaison with the assigned government Program Office / Quality Assurance Representative
Responsible for ensuring that adequate safety and security standards are established and maintained
Attends all required management meetings, including at other sites or CAE headquarters
Ensures compliance with all company Information Systems and data protection security policies and procedures
Our ideal candidate has :
Minimum of 10 years in a leadership position with multiple subordinates, including minimum 4 years of Project Management responsibility
Excellent business, organizational, time management skills
Ability to work autonomously to tackle a broad scope of customer requirements
Management experience dealing with organizational, logistics, technical and training issues
Experience managing teams in a military or mission-oriented environment
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Must be able to effectively deliver oral presentations to management and customers
Must be able to work independently and direct subordinates
Must be able to work overtime when needed
Strong record of management success
Firm understanding / familiarity of the RCAF environment
Familiar with learning processes employed in aviation professional training centres
Superior interpersonal and communication skills in English, French an asset
Eligibility to work in Canada either as a Canadian Citizen, a Permanent Resident or with a valid Work Permit
Capable of obtaining and maintaining both Controlled Goods Clearance and a Level II NATO Secret security clearance
Desirable qualifications :
Experience with CAE simulators or training devices
Experience as military flying or maintenance instructor
