Description :
- Monitors activity space for all programs, events, and rentals. Ensures a safe environment is maintained for staff, members, and visitors
- Hiring, training, supervising, and evaluating the work of full, part-time and casual staff
- Identifying facility and / or equipment issues, problems, and solutions
- Ensuring others adhere to legislated regulations for swimming pools
- Identifying and monitoring security issues and needs of the facility
- Assisting in projects as assigned which contribute to the effective operation and / or improvement of facility services.
Essential Qualifications :
- Bachelor's Degree in Kinesiology or equivalent or acceptable combination of equivalent experience. Certifications required include : NLS, Standard First Aid, CPR-C, , Airway Management, NLS Instructor and Examiner, First Aid Instructor and Examiner
- Minimum of 4 years experience of related leadership experience at a comparable Aquatic and Recreation facility.
- Minimum of 4 years experience managing a large number of aquatic staff, maintaining pool filtration and disinfection systems operations, and leading preventative maintenance and repair projects.
- Preferred certifications include : Airway Management Instructor and Examiner, and ORFA Certified Aquatic Professional or LSS Certified Pool Operator
- Excellent communications, customer service, planning, organizational, time management, scheduling and supervision skills
- Excellent conflict management skills
- Excellent excellent negotiation and diplomacy skills.
- Proven ability to collaborate and participate effectively within a team
- Mechanical aptitude necessary, manual ability in simple repairs, and basic materials management and maintenance
Assets (Nonessential) :
- Experience in event management is an asset
- Labour relations experience an asset
- Electronic timing system (Quantum) experience an asset

Pay Scale Group & Hiring Zone :
USW Pay Band 13 $83,150 with an annual step progression to a maximum of $106,336. Pay scale and job class assignment is subject to determination pursuant to the Job Evaluation / Pay Equity Maintenance Protocol.
