EMIN unit is seeking a Solutions Designer toassist in providing operational support and leading modernizationefforts to mitigate risks related to supporting our legacy productsand in year project priorities that have shifted our operationalstaff.

The eMinistries Support Unit isseeking a Solutions Designer to provide critical operationalsupport and lead modernization efforts for our legacy systems.
Thisrole is essential to mitigating the risks associated withmaintaining and updating these legacy applications.
Responsibilities : Undertakes thedesign of technology solutions based on the client servicespecifications standards policies best practices platforms and costmodels in order to meet client application business requirement andproject / initiative deliverables taking into account Ontario PublicService (OPS) technology / platform constraints and securityrequirements (GO ITS 25).
Technical & Problem Solving Skills : Knowledge ofapplication technologies (Java .NET Microsoft Dynamics and PowerPlatform Low Code etc.
and OPS platforms and services offered fromInfrastructure Technology Services (ITS) including integratednetworking technologies cloud technologies (Azure AWS etc.
midrange server enterprise storage and SAN and personal computersystem technologies OPS directory / messaging standards standardinfrastructure / architecture management and documentation.
Knowledgeof leading edge technologies design criteria security and recoveryprocedures preparation of technical specifications for installationtesting and performance of integrated multiservices systems;
assessperformance and capacity of existing system making recommendationsfor improving performance and develop technical documentation.
Advanced skills in troubleshooting resolving (quickly) complextechnology issues and performing root cause analysis.

Experience designing and developing large complex highlyavailable mission critical server applications Experience withsystems evaluation to assess conditions technical performance andcapacity of existing systems and determine need and feasibility ofexpansion renovation or replacement
Experienceplanning migrating implementing and sustaining large complex systemdevelopment projects Knowledge of technology developments trendsand new products to evaluated application to client short and longterm technology requirements.
Project Management and Communication Skills
Knowledge of project management methodology (e.g. PMBOK)and ability to create concise and clear communication artefactsincluding OPS Architecture artefacts(Business / Solutions / Information Design documentation) andpresentations and briefing notes as required.
Knowledge andexperience in doing technology market scans and contributing tooptions analysis and cost benefit analysis needs.
Excellent analytical problemsolving and decisionmakingskills verbal and written communication skills interpersonal skillsand negotiation skills team work skills A team player with a trackrecord for meeting deadlines.
